I just saw the moonlight from the maxspect after tha main lights are off.

Its simply fantastic.

One of us must post a pic with the moonlight on.

Picked up the G2-160 version a couple of days ago from Razali -- quite pleased with the unit.

I'm happy that the moonlight mode looks very even with none of that 'beam of light' effect commonly associated with other moonlight LEDs.

Ibanez -- you play guitar too?

Cheers,

Clinton

Anyone using the G2 170 vs 230? Wanted to see the effect, a bit moved by the product and may want to give it a try. However, want to know more on the cree led vs the normal LED and difference between the 170 vs the 230 and whether they can support 4ft x 2ft x 2ft and the pentration height as i will be hanging the lightset if using. Thanks.

i think for 4 feet should need atleast 2 set of those for decent coverage. but i could be wrong.

im looking into LED recently as well as heat generated from T5 and MH can be very displeasing to the living room.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

the G2 170 and 230 are 80cm long. While the rest are 40cm. If getting 2 sets for the shorter series, just nice. For the 80cm one, can't get 2 set but was thinking to buy 2 and make the tank super bright. Lol. This changeable LED seems good. Hopefully kind reefer who owns them can have open hse....lol.

oh, i didnt know that. just check their spec, the width is 18cm which is very small as compared to my 75cm. anyone using it without complains wuth 75 with just single unit? i fear its not enough. very likely i will need 4 of the 230W ones if im switching to LED. the cost will be

New key feature 2

Another interesting feature is that you can now swop out faulty LED/s or change white LEDs to blue LEDs or vice versa yourself. there is no need to send the unit back to the factory for such replacement and the best part is that the warranty will not be voided.

The LEDs are mounted on "LED shoe plate" that is secured to the aluminium plate by 2 screws and a 2 pin connector.

If the LED is faulty or should you wish to replace the white LED with a blue one to give a more actinic look, you would just need to order a new LED from MaxSpect and do the replacement yourself.

I have yet to try it but would post pics if I get a chance to.

here's the white LEDs

and these are the blue ones.

Bringing this old thread up as i own one of these units, i wanted to find out -

- Did anyone replace the LEDs to CREE or Maxspect?

- Where did you get the bulbs from?

- Any recommendations on your new LED set up?

I find my current/ original set up is too white, and it doesnt bring out the vibrant colors of my corals, according to LSF, i was told to make it slightly more bluish.

Thanks bros.
