White SPS = Kinder Surprise after expiry date

Assumption killed the dinosaurs, they didnt have test kits.

I got another few dollars discount from them when paying the total amount.

The total setup is just 2 digit :)

yeah she likes clowns, firefish and has lots of gobies favorites too...... well, will let her make her own decision.... smile.gif

anyway , nice to know that you are involving your little girl and making her.. RESPONSIBLE for the pets she keeps. That's what most parents nowadays seem to miss out... buy on impulse for the kids then the poor animal gets abandoned end of the day... makes me fume .. so I'm glad that your girl is being thought responsible pet keeping. good on ya mate. welldone.gif

I failed miserably on that education with her hamster project.

But I am sure that this aquarium thingy will have a much better progress.

next time when she do show and tell in school, she can talk about her reef tank !!!! YAY!

with regards to hamsters in the future, come to me... I won't profess to know every single thing, but I can definitely advise you on what to buy and what not to. .. been loving them and adopting them the past 10 years. :)

Unfortunately most people don't think very much of them because they are pocket pets, but a life is still a life. thumbsup.gif

this is a good start :groupwavereversed: ...nothing beats a hands-on education about nature and marine life at home :thumbsup: . My 2 yr old gal can name and tell me creatures like octopus, yellow tang, snails, corals, blue tang, etc...only thing i kinda caution is she likes to scare my fishes....

speaking of how our better half's thoughts and reactions.

Sometimes I wonder, this hobby teaches us patience and responsibilities. True, it takes time and costs $$. But in life, this is true isn't it?? In order to achieve the long term goal(s), patience is required! You need to spend time and sometimes $ along the way. responsibilty to maintain and take care of it. If it doesn't cost much, or comes by too easily, one tends to value or appreciate it lesser. (this is a broad stroke statement but very true in many instances)

What matters most eventually, is when u see the achievement as corals propogate and a little piece of the ocean prospers in ur living room or whatever room it is in.

So, what exactly are they complaining when we are cultivating our life values or our future generation's???

I am facing the same problem as you Jacky! Maybe we just need to sell this better to our better halves.

Actually I already have one in my cube. She is not that keen leh....

She is learning to appreciate the Helfrichi though.

Now when its feeding time, she will say :" Daddy, I will stand back so that I will not frighten that firefish away" :)

We also need to periodically remind them that it is better putting time and $$ into reefing hobbies than other "unhealthy" hobbies :)

On the other hand, come to think of it, my wife is considered quite supportive liao.

Drives me to CF, SL most of the time. I spend tons of time on rescaping, she also never make noise.

Nvr ask me how much the corals cost too.......

Only thing is that she just gets naggy when I get a bit too obsessed with the tank or any other hobbies... forum, PS3, etc etc.
