RAV-65
Is it true that the hermit crabs would eat up the good algae on the LR? SRC Member Tanzy Posted December 20, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 20, 2003 If you mean coralline algae, then no. They don't particularly like to eat any kind of algae. SRC Member Tanzy Posted December 21, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 21, 2003 Silk worm? Doesn't sound like algae to me. If it is a fan worm or something like that I won't be surprised that the hermit decides to try and make a meal of it. All crabs are opportunistic feeders. Sometimes they are seen picking a turf algae and it is because they are trying to get at the pods in it. Quote Warning: Heavy handed moderator in operation.
