New tank?.. probably monitor the trend first.. may be fluctuate or swing often...

8.3 is close to norminal PH for marine... It is ok...

Pls find below some good write up from book title "Reef Secrets by Alf Jacob Nilsen and Svein A. Fossa"

Hey hi A.,

ideal ph is 8.1-8.3

ph increases thoughout the day once your light switches on. So if u monitor the reading on your aquatronica, you will notice your ph is at the highest just before you switch off your light. (ph is higher when you have less CO2 in your tank)

Just check your ph reading during lights on and lights off timing.

IMO, the key is not achieving the magical ph number of 8.2 but the target is to have as consistent ph with as less swing as possible.

Hence throughout the day, a ph of 8.0 - 8.2 is better than a ph of 8.0 -8.4

Eqpt: Deltec MCE 600, Tunze 6055 with Tunze 7091 controller, Artica 1/15 HP chiller, AquaIllumination Sol Blue LED Light System

2011 resolution : Do it simpler, better and in an easier way!

yoyo!! your PH is good but your corals are most likely re-adjusting to the new lights.. try to shorten the lighting hours..

Bro hellokitty,

yes to add on to ray...

MH to LED change is quite a big shift. (not sure the brightness now)

but you should watch if the LPS are not opening(weakened light) or bleaching(increased light hours) to tune your light hours accordingly.
