turkey baster

Hi,

Anyone knows where can i put a long turkey baster? I intend to use it for feeding corals and throwing away debris...

do you mean where you can buy ? for feeding, i recall ray doing a syringe glued up with e balloon stick. although a bit pricey, you can also get the kent sea squirt (21" that can extend to 35") and has a retractable prong also for more meaty stuff. the hole though is quite small, so i have increased this quite so it can handle mysis and brine very well (original state quite hard, tends to get stuck) ... clearning debris, not recommended, maybe some detritus you can remove but might end up getting sand or other bigger particles get stuck. cheers !

Thank... but every exp... $39..

yup, that's why i said earlier it is pricey ... you can just resort to DIY.

bro digibee, maybe you can advise the one you got from daiso which can be used for this ... if it's daiso, should be able to get it cheap.

Mine is $2 from Daiso, vivo city.

It is just a plastic tube which you can suck in stuff such as mysis shrimp and press and squirt it onto your corals, etc.

Note that it is not that long; I think about 20 cm ++.

I am still looking for a cheap but longer one; however, in the meantime, this one has been serving me well.

(-_-) Happy will do ... (o_o)

What is the length of the turkey baster you got from Diaso? Which Diaso branch?

Hai, you can get a syringe as pics below, + small diameter PVC tube for extension which available any hardware shop..

Whole DIY less than 10-15 dollar...

Below shows 60ml syringe pics..

Air tube may be too flexible this harder to control on target area, that's why recommended is PVC tube or those 'balloon sticks or tubes' since they are more rigid.

get it from daiso, very cheap. $2. seen in at all branches before.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Ya.. Air tube too soft and flexible...

I suggest using the same method as raydiative shows..

http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89518

But dun do it quite often.. will contaminate yr water quality easily..

Cheers and Happy Reefing...

you can use an air tubing, but you need to tie a rigid stick to support the air tubing.

defeats the purpose anyway as you can use a balloon stick as raydiative mentioned.

Just my 2 cents worth. Ease up on the buying for now. U prob already have all the essentials.

U can always also choose cheaper alternatives. Like the sea squirt vs. ray's balloon stick. Of course, sea squirt is a good investment, at the end of the day, your choice la.

I am curious though, bro kk, why did you buy the $39 sea squirt and call it a good investment when Poomoon's 2nd reply about it to this thread wasn't a good review? I would have thought Ray's recycled balloon stick worked better.

Anyway, personally, I buy a $1.60 60ml syringe from Guardian and attach a tube to it, can use both for feeding and blowing detritus from rocks haha.

My 24G nano tank (Decommed)

And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

because i read somewhere in this forum sgreef, mentioned by bros, in the long term, it will contaminate the water... something like this... by the way i got mine for about $35 after discount.
