millepora, dying or growing?

Bro, different SPS should not be placed too close or touching each other, or else you will realise that one them will be 'burnt' by the other more aggressive species.

A good guide will be to place them at least 3-5 inches apart to cater for growth among the sps. By the time the SPS has grown too close to each other, you will either need to relocate one of them further or alternatively trim either / both SPS to avoid one of them being 'burnt' . :)

Treat others the way you wanna be treated...

For suspect flatworms invasion, take out the colony and drip it in coralRX but most of the time, it causes most stress than treatment. Alternatively, u can use a blaster to blow at the coral or try your luck with six lines wrasses hoping they go for the flatworms.

Blaster alone may not be as effective, reason is AEFW has a strong grip and very difficult to be dislodge without stunning them to make them loose the grip. Best is to use both RX and blast. Dip the suspected AEFW sps with RX and leave it for about 2 minutes and star using a blaster and blast every single part to dislodge the AEFW that has been stunned by the medication.

Try your best to blast the pest off as quickly as possible and the entire process should not exceed 10-15 minutes, as prolong dipping and blasting will be hurting the sps itself.

After which, place the treated sps back to the tank and let it recover, hopefully it will recover fully. 6 lines will be a good wrasse to control AEFW though not full prove.

Treat others the way you wanna be treated...

To add on to the above infomation, do remember the eggs! Eradicating the adults won't rid you of the problem if there are eggs left behind. And if you notice the symptoms associated with AEFW, chances are there's most probably a established colony happily munching away in your reef.

Unfortunately, most remedies for AEFW does not work on the eggs so manual removal is the often the only way to get rid of them.

Do a search on "AEFW eggs", and you should get some idea how they look like.
