I got a DI set for nano tanks from Ken at about $80, or was it $68, I don't remember. Plus a valve tap thingy which you can mount before any of your taps at home, that's about $11. So far, I have done about 200 litres of water without changing the resin/ carbon and the TDS meter still reads zero. Buckets of resin and carbon cost $25 and $16 respectively.

Buy 200 litres of distilled water costs about $120, then add parking, elbow grease and a place to dump 200 bottles to that.

The only complain I have, it takes 3 days dripping to fill 25 litres, and I use that to wash aquarium stuff, all used in 20 minutes.

a bucket, a fine mesh bag, resin and pump. put the mesh bag with resin and run the pump. withinn 1 hours, can achieve TDS reading of zero for ard 60L. this is much faster than those canister filtering system. hope this help.

Very good idea! I feel stupid now, drip 3 days for 25 litre, hahaha. I think I'll find out how to plug a pump to the John Guest fittings, then just run it in a bucket of tap water.

this is how i DIY my DI water...

1. cut some slots at the container...

2. cover them with fine mesh to prevent the resin from coming out

3. cut a hole at the cap and attach to the outlet of the pump

4. pour the resin into the container and screw the cap on

5. put the pump into the water drum and fill it up with tap water

within hrs (depend on your water vol) it should turn to zero reading
