Greetings to all Reefers,

Took me a long time and finally here i am. A marine tank in my life,ya..."Snefer" the name of my tank will be the fav past time as of now

Bought my tank and the feeling of unwrapping it from the box brought me back to my younger days..like a boy with his christmas gifts.

Set-up began and took my 4 hours with all the filters, gravel, pump, water and Day 1 was tough but enjoyed every moment.

Feeling great despite lack of sleep night before.Water seems clearer but faced temperature issue altough the Dophin tank came with a fan attached to cover. Decided to pop by LFS to get another fan.THinking hard how to modify the additional fan and attached to the cover. This was what happened after some trials.

Small fan on the left corner was new one.NEED HELP!!!!

Question: Both fan are sucking the air out from the tank wif the cover down. THe question is,"Should i let the new fan wind direction blow towards the water or otherwise, please advise...thanks.

This is a common problem with built in tank set, the cooling is limited if you are not considering chiller...

Since the built in fan is sucking air out, the new fan should be blow toward the water surface to create air circulation and best is at an angle...

Take note of the evaporation, I am top uping 1.5 litre every 2 days for my 30gallons... But I am using a motor fan that is quite powerful... You might need to top up every few days depending on the amount evaporated...

Many thanks for reply Terry- i will change the direction of wind flow tonight <_< and still keen in your Zoas. Can i call u?

LAst night,18/8/2011.

Bought some LR,test kits,blue LED,etc..Water checked,PH checked..so far so good.Temperature was 28deg.

I am always very fascinated with the rich marine lives as well as the mystery in the deep blue sea. When i introduced the LR into tank (cycled for 2 days in) i thought they are pretty sanitised but to my surprise, there were still hitchhikes presence.Darn.

Hitchhiker No.1 - small crab that looks like alien to me.

Hitch No2 - a centipede like worm crept out and managed to catch it luckily.

Pic of Hitchhiker - less than 1cm and cant catch, hope its not a pest.
