rowaphos shld be introduced slowly, much lesser than the recommended stated amt. the amt to be increased shld be gradually increased over a gradual period of time. too sudden a drop in PO4 might hv adverse effects on ur corals.

what i dun understand is why r u so worried abt the electrical surge? there's bound to be surge when the comp kicks in but that will be only for a relatively short period of time and the resonance will soon come to be ur running amp. i wld say that the start up amp is negligible in relation to cost. i wld rather put my concerns on the overall amp the whole reef system is running on, making sure that the total amp does not exceed 13A at any given point of time.

I cannot say for sure resun CL650 consumes how much electricity, as i hv neither the knowledge of its compressor motor size nor the power consumption of the compressor at max load. hotlemond, i am juz a regular reefer....... juz like u and everyone else. frankly speaking, i seriously doubt a resun CL450 will be able to cool down ur tank to 25 degrees........ and if it really does, god knows how long ur chiller will be running at one go. much depends on the ambient temp, ur lighting conditions and other heat loads, etc......
