My friend is currently doing her Hons proj with Autism Association (Singapore) and she has this problem: Nobody there (herself incl) really knows how to set up the server (owned by Autism Association Singapore) to host a website and a particular management system Her Hons proj involves a web-based learning tool that requires the help of the system thus the problem. Calling all the young people of Singapore. Here is your chance to design and name an Internet portal for youth in Singapore, and win some prizes. The winning design will be decided through an online poll, and the portal will be launched later this year. Tentatively called the Youth Portal, it will be a resource and virtual space for young Singaporeans who want to participate in the community and make a difference to the lives of those around them. It will be a one-stop online meeting place for youth to exchange views, put ideas into action, and start community projects. The Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) is inviting youth* to design and name the portal. We are looking for an exciting and user-friendly website design and the most memorable name for the portal. A $2,000 cash prize awaits the winning entry, and the runner-up stands to win $1,000. Apple iPods will also be awarded to the 3rd, 4th and 5th placed entries. Entries should be submitted to contest@youth.sg. The closing date for submission of entries is on 12 June 2005.
