  1. get a sand shifter snails, blenny, hermits or slugs...
  2. Quite interesting thing that PUB is doing. Everyday our government is asking to save water, and yet PUB throwing newwater into the drain. Producing newwater also uses some form of electrical energy. So throwing away the just-produced newwater also a waste of electricity.
  3. Hehehe ... just voted for her..... anyway, based on the number her votes, not easy for other ladies to beat her .....
  4. Probably you sleep walking at nite and catch your LMB from the sump and put in the main tank....
  5. For MH lights, the losses due to heat is about 40-50%% for every wattage. Therefore the total wattage for 250W = 250 + 50% = 375W Electrical Bills = 375 x 8 x 0.1544 x 30 /1000 = $14
  6. After a few years of taking car of the tank, normally we will take for granted for not having proper husbandry and all those normal chores like changing water, etc will be neglected.
  7. Your flowerpot is residing. Probably due to the 'cherry' eating or poisoning your gonio.
  8. I saw this from Skimmer design Quoted there : According to Escobal: "...the volume of air in a skimmer can never be greater than about 13% of the volume of the skimmer or the bubbles will merge. Experimental measurements are in agreement..." (Escobal, p. 96). So if you hear any manufacturers out there claiming that their product will inject more than 13% air into the skimmer body, then I would highly suspect that they're not going to be able to acheive the proper bubble size inside their skimmer.
  9. 312L of air in Deltec? That's awfully lot of air to squeeze into the skimmer at a given time.....
  10. I think no need to shoot the enemy coz the when the enemies see this, surely the enemies die laughing....
  11. Yep, I slowly put the sunflower coral in the bowl filled with the tank water. Then put the food mix in the water and stir slowly. If some of the polyps grab hold of the food, I would stop swirling the water and let the polyps gulp the food and stir the water again. Quite fun watching the mouth swallowing the food greedily. Cannot leave the SC too long coz the oxygen content in the water wont be enough. Also, I put the bowl which has SC in it, into another bigger bowl where I put some tap water and ice to keep the smaller bowl water nice and cool. The more food the SC eat, the more new polyps will grow. Mine already double in size in a few months
  12. Hmmm.. sound like a pirate...btw, u work at malacca straits?
  13. Putting 15ml of vinegar into your kalk solution would improve the CO2 content.
  14. SC has no symboic algae inside their body to manufacture its own food. So, light is useless for them...
  15. It's all in the mind, bro.... But if your mind says..sit back, munch some potato chips and admire your tank from your lazy chair..... I'm afraid can't help much in changing the water...
  16. I'll put my SC in a bowl, with water from the aquarium of course. Then swirl the water in the bowl and dumping mysis shrimp, food paste consisting of squid, silver fish, crab meat, prawns, fishmeat, etc. After abt 1 hour of feeding, put back in the tank. I like this method because I won't have that much uneaten food all over the main aquarium.
  17. Yep, I changed at least 20% every week. No choice, my tank is small. Wah AT, you post this article at 3am? Can't sleep?
  18. Which fan do you recommend for the mod?
  19. Which pump are you using, bro?
  20. I can't see the left side frame all the recent postings....
  21. If it's not AT's belly button, then it's a stingray?
