  1. That means the BB the converts Ammonia to Nitrite is establised already but not those BB that converts Nitrite to Nitrate. Don't stock up more fishes and monitor your ANN readings till you get zero for both ammonia and Nitrite.

  6. but serioussly, even freshwater fish also shouldn't die within 2 minutes. IMHO i think freshwater fishes put in sea water should last longer than that for the osmosis shock to take place. I think there are some toxic around that are able to kill the fish within such a short timespan.
  7. Sand reserved. Tank still available. Sorry, didn't realize that I've put the wrong no. I can be reached at 97676950

  9. What I did for my tank was to use NSW for the first time and then use salt mix for water change. I find this easier as I get the distilled water delivery to my house. I usually ordered about 6 bottles of 19l distilled water.
  10. I think I got check Salifert Ca expiry date before and it should be sometime in 2014. Hanna checker Procedures itself already calls for a callibrated of the checker with RO/DI water. I think the question now is which is more accurate in terms of the method in which the test kit gets the results. Salifert itself need me to determent when the co our change while Hanna checker uses digital spectrometer(I think). Maybe I'll test the Hanna checker with the test sample from Salifert.
  11. Hi guys, recently I got my hands on the Hanna Calcium test kit. Just tested it and it gives me a reading of Ca - 520. All along I've been using the Salifert Ca test kits which gives me a reading of 430ppm.. Understanding that the Salifert test kits requires me to count drops and see colour change while the Hanna test kit is digital. But the difference seems too big. Now I'm totally confuse as to which test kit to trust? Btw. I used the Hanna test kit twice, first reading, 533ppm. Second reading, 520ppm. My Salifert test kit almost always give me a range of 410~450 ppm.
  12. From what I see in other forum, this is to prevent anyone from creating a temp account and postin sell/buy and then run off or disappear if something happens. Saw it quite often on some forums.
  13. Anyone any idea other than Hanna Instruments, is there any LFS that's carry the checkers and the price range? Am interested in the calcium, alkalinity and phosphate checker.
  14. Do note that tuxedo urchin eat coralline algea so I wouldn't recommend it to a new tank.
