  1. Put fish food through the top hole of the trap. Normally after 2-3 days, fish will come into the trap to eat the food on floor of the trap. Then can catch the fish easier leh.
  2. Fishes for now. Nothing too fancy.
  3. Chaeto Dying ! I find those external breeding box kinda small. I suspect could be not enough flow, but its above my wavemaker. Thinking of DIY a algae scrubber instead. Still sourcing for ideas..
  4. Icic. I'm using photobucket, then paste the link direct. What kind of top up water ya using?
  5. Nice tank !! Is it my comp, or the photos are inverted? haha
  6. I used to have a few in my tank. Nv eat any of my fishes. They are mainly scavangers. I once had a Dottyback, which bite off a chunck of bobbit worm, nv forget the sight. Damn badass.
  7. Full tank shot. My midas blenny is hiding, lol. I like my tank to be blue. New true percs. Finally get them to eat after 4 days of not eating.... However, after 1 week, began to fight and the smaller one got its tail nip off. Isolating them now.
  8. Added Chaeto to create some healthy pods into the tank. Running on 12 hr 15watt white LED. My red LED just arrived, maybe might do a swap. thanks bro thomas_lim
  9. Maybe I too used to matured live rocks. Seldom see diatom in my previous tanks. oh well. Still dun know where to get new supply of distilled water since NTUC raise its prices.
  10. Yeah, agree. That will defeat my purpose of trying to run all these with lesser wattage. I might try 3 to see the effect though.
  11. This is how it used to look with 1 tube of 24 watt T5. (Somemore its cheapo bulb) So i'm still sourcing for better alternatives. If ya guys got any ideas, please share with me ! Thanks.
  12. Upon advice from fellow reefers, I bought a $7 E27 clamp for the bulb from Unicell at Sim Lim Square. The clamp part is made of plastic, which is good as its really near the water. The neck is chrome, which is pretty common. As the bulb is 60 degree, the LED beams are straight and very direct to a spot in the tank. I doubt reflector would make any difference. I might consider getting 3 clamp stand and point it down. Two blue at the side, white at the middle. Total $ spend after conversion rate = $16.50 + $14 = $30.50
  13. Just thought of sharing what I did recently for my tank. I tried to find a cooler and lower wattage alternative for my 2 Ft tank. <Main Aim> < 48 watt Blue 50% white 50% Was poking around the internet and saw some quite affordable LED on EBAY. <Specs> Base: E27 Power: 5x3w 15W Chips: 5pcs Bridgelux 3w led chip bead Input Voltage: AC 85-265V Beam Angle: 60 degree Price is around 5.99 USD. I know there are cheaper sources, but EBAY is quite convenient for me. After 3 weeks, it arrived. Looks pretty decent.
  14. Hmmm, apparently there's some diatom appearing on my rock(before I used those LED). I was running with T5. Given that I have no live stock, just did water change after cycling.... I suspect the Bottled distill water I got from NTUC, isn't that pure afterall....
  15. Anyone has some to spare? Thanks
  16. LED bulbs arrived from HK. 15W each. Problem is that the beam are straight....which is kinda expected. Light stand can be buy from Unicell at Simlim square. Ard 7 bucks each.
  17. I just bought a midas. I still a bit reluctant to fork out >$60 for a fish.. I heard flame angel dun do well in high temperature, >27-28 degree. True? or myth. Thanks for all the awsome combi.
  18. Saw some nice feeding Midas Blenny at Sealife today. Bought 1.
  19. Baby archilles tang?! haha, nv seen that before.. Sixline or long nose hawk fish?
