  1. Mine's even worse... i grilled it under open fire using a lighter... burned it to black and charred... 2 weeks later ... it came back at exactly the same spot...
  2. Simple... test it with tap water... which one gives you 1.000 will be the accurate one....
  3. Chinese made tanks have been widely reported to have this inherent problem... seems like inconsistent or lack of QC/testing.... same with their pumps/filter (some caught fire) Best to stick to German/Japanese stuff... safe of mind... Even if the "hit" rate is low... i wouldn't want to risk it....
  4. 28-31C.... surviving but not growing...
  5. Here it goes.... Minimum equipments, Lazy-Bum Tank 1) 1 coralife 10K 28W PL 2) 1 coralife 18W actintic 3) Eheim 2213 (bio filteration) 4) Eheim liberty 200 (mechanical) Livestock/corals 1) 1 yellow-tail damsel + 1 Flame angel + 1 true percula 2) 3 RBTA, 1 purple tenacle anemone, 1 star polyps, 1 true octo, some mushies, etc Will post a pic up...
  6. My 10gallon Nano, no water change since 2004. Doing well, RBTA splitted 3 times. No chiller Chronology Feb 2002- New tank commission, cycling Mar2002- 20% water change every week Aug 2002- 20% water change every 2 weeks (coralline algae forming) Jan 2003 - 20% water change every month Jun 2003- 20% water change every quarter Mar 2004 - last water change (coralline growing on glass) It almost maintenance free now... ha ha ha... of coz still need to feed the fishes everyday
  7. I also transferred 150 to him in Jan 07 for a TECO chiller. till now nothing... sms him many times.... also say will not cheat my money... say will transferred back the money .... again nothing just sms him a final warning... i have kept all the sms and bank transaction... hope you are hearing this natural769
  8. Hi, anyone knows any LFS has purple tang available presently? Thanks in advance
  9. jelly fish(those u see in stores) live span is very short , typically around 4 weeks.... and need special filter system to prevent being shredded... There are other breeds of jelly fish that have significantly longer live span but not suitable for reef tanks, too huge and have powerful stings. they are very elegant creature though; there is a public aquarium in california which showcase jelly fishes; they are channel in from the ocean and then returned back regularly; evidence that they cannot be kept
  10. Too heavily stocked IMO, should half it, unless you want to do at least 20% wafer change every 5 days....
  11. aiptasia are difficult to eradicate, coz they multiply if are broken up. also they sting corals and even anemones. i use flame from a lighter preferable those wind proof type; lift the LR out and burnt it till ash, not even a single piece of charred portion should remain; they will come back one another mtd is to use chemicals and inject using syringe; but never tried that B4, scared may contaiminate tank
  12. Bubble tip is not the natural host for common clowns. only 1 in ten will accept a bubble tip. In presence of other soft corals, the common clown will host the corals instead
  13. Dear all, from the previous few threads; it seems many have missed the point that Bubble tip Anemone is not natural host for True Percula or Common clowns. In fact, only about 10% would accept BTA as the host anemone.
  14. my green bubble tip recently lost all its tenticles. now like botak how come? but still attaching and moving around in the tank should i remove it? cannot feed; as it has no tenticles to capture the prawn. Siao liao in between; i also have one white with purple tip; seems to be doing quite well, feeding weekly with prawn. 5month old.
  15. Hi Tang, if you are going japan again, drop me a mail, i will show you where all the goodies are. Even their fresh water stocks look good
