  2. To all that have express interest in the light... tkw2e has asked me to reserved 2 set of lights, 1 white and 1 blue for him till Friday evening. If he areoplane me then.... knightx pm me at 10Nov 8.10pm but never say anything about reserving...... bubuseng pm me at 10Nov 9.16pm and want the white light..... To knightx, as stated, it is 55watt electronic ballast. I used it to light my 4 feet marine tank till I bought MH. I like the blue colour that's why I have 2 sets of blue and 1 set of white. There are no rusting on all 3 casing at all 'cos I cleaned and wiped every weekends during the usage.
  3. It comes with stands. I have used the light for 6 mths.

  6. 6.6kg is how many gal mix? ie 50gal?
  7. Congralution! I hope someday I will as successful as you....
  8. I think the first thing for bro wa_lanz is to find a reliable carpenter to strengthen the support before the whole thing collapse..... so who has lobang for a good, cheap, reliable carpenter to recommend him?
  9. same here.... I only regret that I didn't know SRC earlier....
  10. If u already have a spare canister, this is what I would do... 'IN' tube of canister draw water from display tank 'OUT' tube of canister feed to 'IN' tube of protein skimmer 'OUT' tube of protein skimmer to 'IN' of chiller 'OUT' tube of chiller to filter media Finally, a return to display tank from sump You save 2 pumps to drive protein skimmer and chiller
  11. I bought my 4 ft at CR aquarium and paid ~S$2000.....
  12. one simple sugguestion.... drop two tablet at two different locations as far apart as possible.
  13. eheim 1260 can do the job for your tank size. Any pump that has equilvant rating will do the job just as nice. It all depend on how much u want to spend on the pump. A cheap china brand like weipro, atman will be much cheaper than eheim, ocean runner, etc.
  14. I use resun cl450.... there is some motor running noise when it is chilling the tank. I think the noise is bearable when I am sitting in living room(my tank is in balcony) I go for resun 'cos it is <$500 while other brand mostly cost >$1000. As for reliability, I don't know 'cos mine is still relatively new (less than a yr) but I did regular maintence (ie keep the airway clear of dust) for a better efficency.
  15. I bought a lemonpeel from bro surfelic, he say the fish don't nib on his clam.... but don't know exactly what happen, I lost 2 clams and a red feather star after introducing that guy
  16. Hi...juz curious.... how is that used? Care to post a pic? Or direct me to somewhere to read about it.
  17. The reason for changing is that the filter media has trap too much debris..... Alternatively, rinse your filter media ie bio balls, coral chips with your aged tank water.
  18. I know eheim 1048 will not be able to pump water back to your tank at 1m height. You need a bigger pump, say Eheim 1250 or bigger. Another point to note is that people will design the return to be at least 6 times the turnover rate of the tank. ie tank vol 100litres => 600l/hr excluding all the losses.
  19. It will grow like seaweed. They looks nice and not fast growing as other type of macro algae. I had them in my tank when my nitrate was high without water change but after I bought a urchin to control other nuisance algae, the first algae the urchin choose is this and its finish the whole lot in 2 days
  20. I think the idea is great but.... where to find the parts to diy yourself unless u have means of getting the unique parts eg. the rotating parts as seen on the fan?
  21. I bet the fish that died are the sensitive type and the survival are the hardy fish like the damsel, clown right? This is what I do when introducing sensitive fish..... 1) place the plastic bag in my tank for at least 15-30 minutes to balance the temperature 2) add some amount of tank water inside the plastic bag and wait for a couple minutes before releasing to the display tank. After introducing the new fish, I tend to feed more and observe how the new fish fares. If the fish is not eating well, think of a way to let him eat eg buy live brine shrimp (readily available) or live mysis shrimps(not so easily).... I also notice that sometimes certain LFS livestocks tend to die easily so I avoid buying from there.....
  22. jus wondering.... will those mentioned pebbles in the display tank limit certain livestock eg sand burrowing goby, etc
