  2. OK, ladies street is on Tung Choi street. The rows of aquarium is at the other end of ladies street. Which means to say, if you walk on ladies street, once you reach the end, you will come to a cross junction. Cross over the road to the other side and conitnue walking in the same street. You will then see the aquarium street. Becareful that you do not walk on the opposite side of ladies street, else you will need to u-turn again. When you reach HK airport, get the tourist map and it wil show you on the map, goldfish market. If you are going by MTR, alight at Mong Kok Mtr and then ask control station for direction. There is a exit number, once you exit, you go up a overhead bridge, corss over to the other side and you will reach the aquarium street.
  3. ok here is mine... the right side of the compartment used to house coral chips when I set up, but I have remove it long time ago..
  4. I need to know where I can get those big bottles(hundreds of ml kind) of Ph7.0 solution, please provide a address to it, thanks.
  5. You can use those hobby drill like Dremel or minicraft which has a variable speed. This tool are meant for hobby used, thus if you are thinking of drilling large hole, then this is out of question..
  6. Bio ball, wet and dry filter is very efficient in converting Ammonia to Nitrite and then to Nitrate, the process stop here. that is why people employing the above method will find that they have high nitrates, that is why poeple term it nitrate factory. So in your case, yes the bio ball is able to take your system, but you will end up in high nitrate, hope this help..
  7. yep, just drop by on Sat, nothing great... only thing can buy is the LR, I think it is $6/kg... and $18 for the tonga branch.. They do have mushroom, buttons and leather. The shop is slightly bigger than ML.
  8. I second that, I feed my ricordea once a week with market prawn and they grow really big....
  9. has alot of you reefers been stocking up on the Nori? I have been to quite a few NTUC, Carrefour and cold storage but none has the nori in stocks...
  10. Hi to all Got 5 extra tub of Kent Turbo Calcium, the 800g pack for sale at $60 each, collection will be at Redhill MRT or Bukit Panjang LRT. For more info, please view the following Kent Turbo Calcium
  11. The T5 from Aquarama is only true in its diameter, 5/8 inch, the wattage is nowhere comparable to the ATI T5, I am refering to the Niche T5 that is on sale at ADEC counter. Niche T5 wattage 2ft - 20W 3ft - 30W 4ft - 40W ATI T5 wattage 2ft - 24W 3ft - 39W 4ft - 54W now you know why the performance of the Niche T5 set can never compare to ATI, the casing is nice though..
  12. You can get Tech D at Sealife.... AT time ricodeas or mushrooms melt may due to either too much light or too little. A few dose of iodine would help . Woonming, that is interesting, I have been dosing Iodine all along, so I think for my case, the iodine does not help. I believe it is some form of disease..., but the Tech D does help to stop it..
  13. Off topics abit, do you guys rinse the GAC(Matrix carbon from Seachem) with fresh water and then put in it the sump or put it straight into the sump?
  14. have you seen a red one before? Here it goes...
  15. maybe you would like to have some cushion on your input to your sump. I can forsee that there will be a lot of splashes and in no time your cabinet will start to rot with those salt water splashing on the side of the cabinet.
  16. Ricordia or mushroom has the tendency to just melt away, 6 months back, all my mushroom rock started to melt one by one, and they will spread from one species to the other. For my case, to stop the spreading, I dip all my mushroom into Kent Tech D, after which the melting stops, this is my observation for my case, I am not sure will it help in yours.
  17. why not use 6x54w T5 tubes? I am using 4x54W T5 and I can keep SPS, LPS, clam and softies. Of course, the clams and SPS has to put right to the top of the tank, few inches below the light.
  18. I am using PL 36W 6500K for my refugium and the photo period is around 12 hours. Every week I will have to cut 2 palm full of the macroalgae. The algae you are seeing now, cannot be obtain from the LFS, it somehow grows from the orginal batch of algae that I gotten from CF. This algae never goes asexual on me....
  19. The only difference I would think off is the LR used. Both dimension would required a 2x150MH, a 0.5HP chiller, similar rating Protein skimmer... Go for the 4footer IMO.... you will not regret it... or maybe you will
  20. Hi Reefer There has been a rise of interest in poeple wanting to keep Anemones and most of the time they will ask about the requirement. Very often such types of question will be ask almost every day. Here is a URL that will tell the various Anemones requirement, especially on the light requirement. Take note that most of them require High lighting which is the same requirement as SPS, so forget about using FL... Anemones Requirement
  21. If you have the choice between the 2, skip the Prism, spend the extra money for a Remora by AquaC.
  22. wow, getting better and better each time.... so where are all the kites?
  23. Those T5 they are selling are "True" in their diameter, but as in how the performance of the tube compare to the ATI or Deltec, I think in term of the wattage they produce, is already not a match at all. Here is more detail of Dymax being offer at Aquarama, the information can be found in their catalog 2ft 20Wx2 3ft 30Wx2 4ft 40Wx2 5ft 20Wx2 + 30Wx2 6ft 30Wx4 what I can think as a potentail is their casing, buy it as a second and remodify everything. I think the ballast inside cannot drive those ATI/Deltec tubes. For your info on ATI/Deltec tubes only 2ft 24W 3ft 39W 4ft 54W 5ft 80W
  24. Those who wants big squamosa ,LCK110 got 6 of them, all of them almost 1ft across. Also the usual normal LPS and they have 2 very large pcs of Hammer... As for fishes, I believe the last batches of yellow tank, kole tang and some angles. There have a few boxes of fishes under Q, inside has a nice blue face, some majestic angles, yellow tang again, Trigger, lion and 3 very nice AT. That is all folks...
  25. I guess you need to let us know how many T5 are you using and what is the height of your 2 ft tank? If you are new to the hobby, I will not recomend you to keep SPS or clams. If you really want to keep these 2 category, make sure you can provide the ideal environment for it, lighting is only part of the equation to keep the above 2 category, there is still alot more that you need to cater for it.
