My leather and cauliflower 'stand' when provided with ample light and dosing of iodine. Just sharing my experience.

Refugium are good IMO as it can remove waste material. Helps to absorb nitrate, PO4. I am currently using one with my skimmer. It also helps to "transfer" algae to the refugium instead of the main display tank. Moreover, the algae eg Cheto can be fed to my ever hungry tangs as natural food.

I agree with underworld. Cleaner wrasse do not last long in capivity. Moreover, there is a similar looking fish as cleaner wrasse known as false cleaner wrasse. This type will rip the skin of your unsuspecting fishes. beware. IMO, get the cleaner shrimp. safer and help to clear up uneaten food. Cheers !

Does the colour of the mushroom indicate the ease or difficulties of keeping ? eg Green shroom are easier than perhaps than red ones ? Are all the shrooms supposed to place on the sandbed or lowest level ? Cos i read some books indicating that non green shroom can be placed on the medium to highest level. reason being these shroom are non green (red,orange ) becos they are adapting to UV light since they are nearer to the surface. How true are these ? Can anyone shed some light ? Thanks.

bro kschew1498, i am using 4ft atman light. I am having the same problem. One of the MH is able to light up at first attempt. After that, it die off. I found out there are burnt mark or carbon at the connector/end cap. Moreover, i observed that the connector holding the MH are pretty loose in ATMAN MH. The reason is explained by Dr Evil below. I bought the RX7 connector from him and fitted it. It works... might want to contact doc evil... just to share my experience....

Guys, I am considering getting a flame angel to my reef tank. I understand from reef books and internet that flame angel are NOT reef safe. However, i see a few brothers in this forum with a/m fish in their tank. Some LFS also add them to their reef tank. Is it reef safe ? Or will it only pick on certain corals ? Thanks.....

IMO, U should aim for 15 to 20 times turnover of the tank volume.... eg, if your tank volume is 100 l, u should look at a total turnover rate of about 1500 to 2000 litres per hours... For my 4 FT tank which is about 400 litres, i have a turnover of about 6000 litres per hours... that comes to 15 times of the tank volume... hopes it helps...
