  1. Reefers in Sengkang, Punggol, Hougang, Greetings. Just thought I type something to see this thread stays alive - very silent suddenly. Anyone got anything to give, trade,??? I am keen to visit some of you seniors so that I can study, learn from all of you.

  3. is all blenny the same, I went to Aqarmarin thread and realise that there are different types of blenny - scooter, spotted, ember etc etc. Any of these type can right???

  6. which beach you got this from? Pls advise.
  7. For my 2 ft I went for a about 1.5" sand bed. Now got a goby and this goby "vaccums" the sandbed for me. So I got clean sand.
  8. bought a test kit to test for nitrite - parameter is ok. I found the word I was looking for in another thread. The name of teh chemical is biophos. Is this purpose to reduce algae...
  9. What I meant is that that my Live Rock has a layer of "fur" - which is guess is algae (from reading the various threads about algae bloom when starting or resatrting a new tank) When I spoken to a fellow reefer, he told me to put something (a chemical) into tank and after a while this chemical will clear the algae. (of course must change the chemical routinely to keep algae in control). My Live rock (if I use a toothbrush to gently brush away the 'fur', it can remove this 'fur' but instead of manually doing this, I thought I can better use a chemical or livestock to do this - that is why I have a lot of clean-up crew. Please help to clarify, Thanks.
  10. you should attach the file or refer us to the internet link
  11. Dear All, Can someone advise me what is the name of the chemical that is put tank to control algae?? I have a 2ft tank (no sump) my tank is placed near balcony (in the shade, so hardly switch on my lights) have 5 hermit and 5 snails cleaning and a 5" goby. Is the chemical method better to maintain the tank or just use the clean-up crew? I just restarted the tank on National Day 2005. Thanks hotlemond for the great website - I actually visited that website but at that time did not understand what that guy was doing. So to all eager to try this, I can do this at my school's workshop. have facility to bend arcylic, can order acylic from supplier directly to do this. Anyone wants to experiment? This will be the last time I hijack this thread. Sorry.

    DIY sump

Sorry for responding to your threads.... I am interested to know how to get the main tank water out to the sump (below the main tank - can use pump) and another pump to water back from sump to main tank? There is a way to do this with only one pump? can someone draw me the piping layout diagram? I aware of the problem of the overflowing thingy when the pump is not working in case of a blackout. Cheers.
