AP: I disagree with you, that's stereotyped, that women are always the weaker mistreated party. you can't use a stereotype to justify any action. that's essentially the same as racism or any form of discrimination, like "oh they are ALL like that anyway, so I am justified in treating and viewing them ALL like that." I have a fren who many yrs ago while in the police during NS would receive calls of spousal abuse, and the caller was the poor husband at his wits end with his wife physically abusing him. besides just how many subservient wives do you see these days? errrmmm no offence, but ryz, are you nuts???? Its one thing to drill hole in the wall to hang picture, and another to drill your ceiling to hang light! assuming your ceiling concrete doesn't spall (hard to say with HDB these days), how are you gg to mount your lights? that's to say, are you really confident that you can mount your light and with a few months of use, plus your neighbour's occasional stomping upstairs giving vibration, or while cleaning your tank, an accidental pull on the light, and your light can still stay up? not to discriminate but I think its quite a big responsibility for a 15 yr old to take. I suggest getting a contractor or at least someone who has installed lights before. else use a sit on your tank kind of MH light.

I agree I think its a really good idea! maybe each sub forum could have a "holding pen" database wise, where any newbie with <X posts should he post in this subforum, his post will go into this holding pen. so its a matter of simply clearing up this "holding pen" for the mods. whichever mod logs on can just clear up a bit at a time. so its kinda like an "IN Tray".

hear hear... point taken!! that is a funny thing isn't it? today men are stuck behind the socially accepted "macho" image while women behind "feminine" image. one thing tho, I think as always there are intrinsic differences btwn male and female, males tend to be more practical, so gifts given or received should be practical (unless its gadget-ty, in which case practicality is thrown out of the window), so when girls give gifts which aren't practical, it most prob won't be appreciated as much.

AT, actually why don't you simply DIY something yourself? a simple stand to go inbtwn the laptop and the lap which allows for some airspace inbwteen, plus some fans to provide airflow in the gap?

actually, hhhmmm in the midst of everything, what happened to the ladies side? shouldn't it also be a day where the girls show their love? strangely, V-day seems more like a day where guys are the ones who do all the legwork. Evident here where everyone toks about what the guy can/should do, to be romantic,etc etc. very one sided to me. seems like V-day is one big exam where at the end of the day the girl gives her grades. I think it should be mutual, girls too should put in lots of effort to make it special, they too could be the ones to spring surprises, gifts, etc. Love isn't a pursuit, its mutual acceptance.
