  1. 1) Sea Cuke and 2-spot goby are some nice choices for cleaning seabed. 2) I didn't know Frog Spawn will shit. 3) So the red algae is growing on your rocks or growing on your sandbed? or do you mean the red algae from your rocks spreaded onto your sandbed? pardon my poor english.
  2. ROFL Nice one Jez Kev: guess by end of GSS, ya gonna have muscular arms~!
  3. Could be diatoms~ common problems. Go to the [New To Marine Aquaria Hobby] --> [ Nuisance Algae Help Forum ]. Many read-ups there.
  4. Well hey hey hey~ thats a nice piece of information Kev! Thanks~ I'll check it out tonite~
  5. tigger: chill, we know, u're a nice guy. and the purchase was high-satisfaction by the buyer. very nice condition u maintained the chiller. cheers
  6. lyz77 : sometimes the thermometer of the chiller is not accurate, try testing the water temperatures with another external digital thermometer. tigger: ur $250 chiller u sold off (my another reefer), same situation -- chiller states 29 degree, but his thermometer already indicates 25.6 degree. =) so such things happens, chiller's indicator might not be accurate.
  7. eh? where's the link? i saw the "this post has been edited by Mod # 1...".
  8. WAH, war broke out? Knife fight or gun fight? I need time to go sharpen my parang or to zero my Ak47 leh... kekeke You mean soccer rite~~???
  9. Zurc, if your tank has no skimmer running, i suggest you go get one asap... if not, do a water change to temporary tackle this yellowish water issue.
  10. Hi there! If you're looking for pieces of wood that comes in paper-thin thickness (very -arts-&-craft type) for pasting on surfaces.... You can try going down to IMM Building. At level 3, there's a shop called "DAISO". Its a Japanese store that sells EVERTHING you can see for just $2 per item. Search around inside and you should be able to find these type of wood pieces for pasting on surfaces. Its usually near the DIY area at a corner. Good luck in your search becuz the store is HUGE...

eh Jez, wat happened? the hermit getting on ur nerves?
  12. Dear Soul, respectfully, i understand what you trying to mean. But if you were to read the full sentence, perhaps you missed out the "...BEFORE ADDING LIVESTOCKS?". I want to know when long was the tank water cycled BEFORE fishes/inverts were added. In addition, from my perspective, I consider tank/water cycling as "cycling" period; only AFTER cycling and the reefer puts in lifestock, then I consider as "running" the tank. To giving an analogy, if you "run" the car for 1.5 km, then got problem... I'll be asking: How long did you spent "warming up" the engines BEFORE you start to RUN the car? U get the idea where my concern is? Up till now, zurc still hasn't responded, so I do not want to comment further without knowing more information, or else my comments would be full of "it may be", "it could be", "it probably"...
  13. question : how long did you cycle your tank waters before adding livestocks?
  14. read this at page 2 SUN CORAL
  15. Hi there! Yes, nudibranchs love to "para-glide" from the top of ur tank to other parts of the tank, letting the current carry them over distances. very graceful look! Can you post a picture of the nudibranch? Well, nudibranchs are time-bombs, and most ppl (who bought these pretty things) ended up starving them to death (becuz they cannot find the food that nudibranch feed on) or having these nudibranch die tragically (physical harm). Nudibranchs that suffer from physical bodily harm will release toxin that will harm the immediate surroundings of itself, so as to irritate away watever fishes thats disturbing it. Its usual bright colors also warns fishes to "stay away or else..." There are also types of nudibranch (not as nice looking) that feeds off your Zoos, so Zoo-Keepers (opps, pun unintented) hate them! If it gets sux into ur pump head and comes out from the other end... erm... toxic! So after reading the above, if you feel like giving up this nudibranch, dun kill it or throw it away! Put it up for adoption : NUDIBRANCH ADOPTION THREAD
  16. Bumpz~ any nudibranches for adoption?
  17. Bumpz up a thread from 4 years ago... resurrection time~
  18. yea, the product name sux~! and... a bit of off-topic of me here... if I re-read your first post, u mention "super cooper"... sounds more like suntan lotion Cooper brand... hehe
  19. not really true... if u looked at the example at Iwarna's... in one of their tank, their sun corals are kinda high-up there... while some are spread below and underneath... and hanging above is MH... but since sun corals do not need lights, most ppl would think: "why waste precious land space above when one can just locate the sun corals in dark areas and leave the open areas above for light-demanding corals?".
  20. Wait wait wait.... this thread is meant for last week (15th to 21st...) its already the 25th today already, and besides there is another thread meant for this 22th to 29th period... time to change already...
  21. (paiseh, I'm really off-topic here) ha ha, guess the tot of kena flamed by ppl here really puts ppl off posting... everyone's so cautious abt their words. I dun care, i post anything that comes off my mind, blunt and straightforward~ thanks for sharing fongster. man~ sps tank... the electricity bills' gonna kill...
  22. ya know wat? as much as it is beneficial (or it might be beneficial) to keep it in the tank, if you just find it disgusting or that the thought of this creature lurking around somewhere in ur tank, just remove the creature if it gives u peace of mind.
  23. oh dear~ ya, like jervismun mentioned, replace the water asap, the super-copper medication might get absorbed by the LR... Good thing your sump and main tank are not linked yet. cuz while marine ich / velvet does not affect invertebrates (ur shrimps/crabs), the copper definately's gonna kill 'em. Since you are already using NSW, then replace with NSW. Its easier, since you are probably gonna change more than 50% of water (and perhaps more if you are gonna start anew). its more economy than to mix 100% of water with marine salt. Since you have big species like BT and sailfin tangs, ur tank's probably quite big eh? U might hate the idea of having to start anew (6-8 weeks of cycling or waiting for the life-cycle of ich-parasites to exhaust...)... it sux... but if you do NOT want to start anew, consider the following : - Keep invertebrates and corals ONLY for the next 2-3 months (until the life-cycle of ich parasites totally exhaust.... since ich doesn't affect inverts and corals). This way, ur tank still stays beautiful~ starfish, pompom crabs, cleaner shrimps, hermit crabs, etc... lotsa corals~ -Only after this period do you slowly introduce fishes in... monitor for another period to see if it falls prey to ich again (it wun if u waited like > 2 months...)... then add more fishes if the first one stays healthy~ -Next thing ya know? Viola~! Ya back on track~ Cheers! How does other reefers think of this method ? Comments welcome~
