  1. They do have very nice corals and the setup is pretty neat too. While I was there, saw some quite exotic cloves as well. So tempted, but my tank is almost full.
  2. There is always the possibility of the overflow box breaking siphon.
  3. If you are willing to lend her so much money in the first place, then her friendship should meant something to you. In that case, I suggest you have a good talk with her. If you decided to take legal action, things may get ugly and you will probably lose this friend. Bottomline, you have to decide if your friendship with her is worth the thousand plus dollars.
  4. Can use vpost Japan if they don't ship overseas.
  5. Am using a md55 for my 42" beckett while my friend is using the same pump on a 64" skimmer. md55 is sufficient for a properly designed beckett.

    T5s urgent

There are offer for aqualight tubes at Aquamarin and Harlequin for T5 tubes. you can go and check it out.
  7. If they are like those in your avatar, I will take all. Up for you.
  8. The washed gravel are more expensive when compared to the normal white/yellow sacks we normally use. I think they are $10 for 6kg vs around $7 for 10kg in the sacks. Quite taxing on the $$ bag. Alternatively, you can make new friends in the forum quickly and get them to help.
  9. If you really have constraints, you can do away with washing the sand. It will take longer for your tank to clear out as your filtration system remove the smaller particles. There will also be some other substances like small chips of wood (which you can scope out when you add water), and some metal bits (which you cannot remove by washing either, have to use the method mentioned by zephyros). In any case you will need to change at least 50% of the water after your cycling period, you can just use the sand as it is and cycle the tank. Can save some water in this case.
  10. There was a colony of blue rhodactus at LCK110 while I was there, but price not cheap.

I want your newly acquired tube worm.
  12. Still confusing, the price in another forum is different again... http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=211824
  13. I thought the price has been revised to $158? http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41161
  14. You can try to get a smaller specimen, but you will get a better chance if it is from a new shipment. Most LFS keeps Golden maroon separate. If you get a specimen that has been in the shop for a while, it may have sexually morphed to a female due to lack of dominant clowns around. If the specimen is new, chances are that it is still a drone and will accept the dominant female more readily. but of course, there are no guarantee. Hope this helps.
  15. Check out my previous post. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...=25686&hl=clown
  16. is there any where the CO2 can accumulate without being dissolved? Another possibility is that your arm has expired. I am just throwing possibilities at you. It might be better if you can get some help from your reefer friends.
  17. Can you tell us what skimmer are you using? The sympton you describe sounds like you have a bacteria boom in your tank. Does the water smell? Actually, I would suggest you change all the water (some may beg to differ). I prefer a total new reset. Just let the water run with skimmer on to aerate the water. (another controversial matter). If you can, get some test kits and monitor the ammonia, nitrite peak. If not, just wait for 6-8 weeks, you water should be safe provided there are no milkiness during the period. At the end of the cycle, change another 50% to dilute the nitrate in the water and you are ready to stock SLOWLY. The rocks are not dead (not all dead yet). The amount of bacteria activities on/in the live rocks are not determined by the coraline algae on them.
  18. did you check the ph of the effluent? although 1 bubble every 3 seconds is pretty fast, but there is a possibility that the CO2 may not be totally dissolved. Your signature states that the CR is a DIY one. Did you diy it yourself? a diagram would be helpful.
  19. I never trusted these gimmicks, especially online ones. But if you do managed to try and it works, do let us know.
  20. Hi, You probably should do some research first. If you want, I can roughly go over the cycling process with you.
  21. Personally, I have used 2 boxes but have not seen any significant changes. But I know of quite a few reefers who have reported enhanced growth of coraline algae after using this product. I believe the primary purpose is for replenishing the trace elements. There are other similar products from sealabs, that maintains/restores other water parameters.
