  1. hi, lookin for 2X36W PL eballast... do PM me if u hav such ballast for sale or if u came across somewhere i can buy it cheap in the west/north region... thanks in advance!
  2. hi... i can see that u hav only a small amout of bioballs... i do tink it is possible to remove them, n even ur coral chips... dun remove the biohome cos they r supposed to help in denitrfication... a wet/dry coneptual filtration does provide efficient nitrfying effects but can usually cause nitrate probs... if u hav a space constraint, i tink u can hang ur weipro skimmer outside the tank... u might not hav as strong skimming effects as when it is in sump, but u can always try n see the effects first, if possible try out with a stronger pump
  3. it's a new setup rite? new tanks always has such algae problems... could be cyano or diatom... just be steady and do ur water changes routine... it's always hard to get rid of these in a short period of time... i see that u r using a tunze... i suppose u hav enuff water circulation?... i would also recommend a check on ur water parameters... since i can see some of LPS not doing quite well... it's always gd to do water changes once in 2 to 3 weeks for new tanks
  4. if ur friend paid a rare price for this rare coral... chances r he/she has been cheated
  5. once the declorinator is added... u can use it almost instantly! there's no need to leave it for a few days... i see no need to use carbon and rowa on the top up water since u already hav these in ur main tank... the amt of phosphates u r introducing in the water is so much negliable as compared to the food u introduce everyday
  6. use an old FL casing lor... take out the tubes and ballast and u got a casing with basic reflector see whether u got extra lying ard or buy cheap cheap from ppl who dun wan it....
  7. it is a parasite... small quantities wont hav noticeable effects... the dreadful thing comes when they hav chance to reproduce indiscriminately... it's betta to find the source now if possible
  8. check ur mushrooms... usually the first place to suspect
  9. hope u find diamond... nice n cute dog... will look out for u too!
  10. someone told me there r 2 versions in the market now, both r coralife but just manufactured in diff places... 1 version is without the tee and the salt do not hav the little bottle of addictive... it is cheaper... tink made in china the other version has the tee and the addictive (this is the original one)... price same as before to buy which is up to the consumer's choice... u cant compare n complain since there is a price difference too..
  11. if wan cheap n relatively gd specs, go for acer but provided if u can hav 3 years warranty (btw, i tink they hav limited warranty, if take it overseas tink 1 year become 3 months) dell is well known for not-so-gd after sales service... my friend's true experience
  12. u might wanna try the LFS near lavender rd... got a couple of shops there... at least 5 nearby each other...
  13. u sure abt this? hav u done a proper cycling? did u take note not too add livestocks too quickly? it is advisable to test ur NH3... even the slightest existance of NH3 in ur nano tank may be toxic...
  14. no price for orgasm? oops... i mean no price tag for osram?
  15. anyone can post their full address or PM me? can check out map go myself... thanx! btw, wats their operating hours like?
  16. 1 feet is too small for 4 fishes esp. tangs! firstly, u do not have enuff space secondly, u do not hav enuff surface area for exchange of gases thirdly, u do not hav enuff water volume to supply enuff oxygen to the fishes fourthly, u do not hav enuff bacteria to handle the bio-loads! normal parasite attack wont wipe out ur livestocks within a night it is obvious that ur system cannot handle the bioload that's y everythin go haywire... u tested nitrite but how bout its immediate toxic brother, ammonia? tink u shld re-assess ur situation n not keep on addin fishes! if u decide to keep to this nano tank, pls understand its limits n plan wat is to be added not to discourage u, it is a common mistake for beginners to overstock their tank... therefore, beginners shld not start with a nano tank in the first place
  17. not possible... usually they use 1 ballast which lights up 2 tubes at once... if u remove 1 of the tube or 1 of the tube fuses, ur light will not light up anymore
  18. try the hardware store, helped my gf found a 36W PL which is printed to be 18000K in a neighbourhood hardware store... to my experience, its color temp is definitely above 10kk and is close to 20kk of T8s... btw, it cost onli $17 bucks and it happens to be the last piece
