  11. chipson1, I could not disagree with you more: "I think the denitrator is not a must for successful reef keeping, its more like an expensive toy or feature that the set up looks comprehensive and high-tech, so to speak." Actually we do not need any equipment at all, including filters, all you need to do is to make water change every few hours! Expensive equipments such as denitrator is to ease our hobby's maintainance time. For example, an innovation of denitrator means that you will need less time for: - Changing water (as it can be spread over a long period of wait) - Wasting time of building a DSB (which can be unsightly) - Closely monitoring the nitrate to ensure that it will not exceed to the dangerous level. Comparing the size of a denitrator as well as the size of refugium to remove the same amount of nitrate. Remember that what you invest is what you get(in most cases).
  12. Nice info, anyway, has been visiting the southern island, and you will be sock to know that we have 51 main family species of corals compare to those in Phuket - 61!!! If you think that our NSW is unable to support or rather too dirty to support corals, think about it again - Most of my water in my tank are NSW from Singapore..
  13. PR. It is judge by the coralline algae.
  14. It is a device that you use to reduce NO3 and small amount of PO4. You can get it from brands such as Sera or Aquamedic. Costing from $250++.
  15. I've seen many forum have in place such practice for years without any problem, and especially MODs and Owner are responsible for the well-being of their forum - you can't just sit there, wait for the problem thread, then decide to remove;delete;change or any other actions that you wanna do. Think of it this way, If I post a topic, not knowing that it might be edited, or deleted, realised few hours later that I am supposed to read and understand the rules and so on... Guess what? Most people will not be happy about that. So it is necessary to screen posting before it is being posted. Anyway, if you should delete these thread or some of the posting within this posting, it is only to show that this place is lact of transparency.
  16. Well, you can't control other's doing, however, you can prevent them from doing since you are the owner. So, it will be best to screen every message before it is actually posted in the forum. People especially Singaporean are so lazy to even read contracts that they are signing, so I doubt that they will even read the rules when posting. Not to mention new-comers. So it is really up to you, you can have a forum where people come and leave, or people who stay for as long till it closes. It is all about the management. Especially SRC is now commercialize - You don't wanna disappoint your Sponsors. We better do some house keeping and tact the problem from its root cause.
  17. It is annnoying that when you post a topic, only knowing that it will be deleted due to the rules that applies. Some might leave based on political grounds and so on. If filtering is really necessary, I suggest that Mod to receive the posting FIRST, before it is actually posted. I am sure that there is a way to do it, rather than telling people that the thread will be deleted and so on. When there is a lack-of-respect for members, they leave!
  18. Please guide me if someone here knows, like a place to hire boat or something.. Thanks.
  19. You might like to check out from Reborn, or AquaMart. Product support from the main company not as good.

  22. Anyway, I never understand why you guys have problems with Anemone, I just got another into my tank and it is doing great. I guess maybe it is the current that it is seeking, that is why it is moving from place to place, so called "hiding". Again, I would suggest: "juz leave it alone until it finds a suitable place"
