  1. It is located at the Goldfish Street at Mong Kok. Take the MTR train and drop off at Mong Kok and look out for exit B3. Remember B3. Once out of the B3, walk straight ahead and go up the overhead bridge and at the top of the bridge, turn right and then make the next available left turn and down into the street and you are already standing at the end of the strett. Cross the street to the other side and start your hunt. First shop is 大堡礁 , Great Barrier Reef. Great place for additives by Kent, accessories and sometimes, they have rare imports on corals and fishes. I saw a big tub of Florida Ricordeas mushrooms. Too bad I am not interested in them or I would have grap a few. Did not ask the price though. For the best selection of fishes, go to 日旺 , Yat Wong, they have the most and best imports. There are a few other new shops just down the road from 日旺 that may have nice imports as well.
  2. There are about 25 pieces from 2 shops, many to choose from.....Just released them into the tub, hope they will pair up. 2 smaller size and 2 huge ones hopefully it is 2 pairs ...hehe.
  3. Just back from Hong Kong....damm nice weather there. Nice fishes spotted there also. So, for brothers going there for holiday, please prepare a near empty cargo bag so that you can put the all the bags of fishes in there with clothings as cusioning. I just did that and bag home 4 African flame back about 1.5 inches at HK$150 each = approx SG$33. Rare fishes spotted there: cross breed pygmy angels, think it is a Centropyge flavissimus x vrolikii Centropyge flavicaudus - Whitetail Pygmy Angel Chaetodontoplus duboulayi - Scribbled Angel Chaetodontoplus meredithi - Queensland Yellowtail Angel Chaetodontoplus personifer - Personifer Angel Pomacanthus chrysurus - Earspot Angel Some rare damsels which cannot make any reference
  4. Like what WL said, if you want to + one size, then have to go 15 inch. If you use 185/60/14 with the rim size same at 14 inch, then your wheels will look very odd (look small with a big wheel arch gap) and the speedometer will be indicating wrong speed compared to actual. A better size will be 185/55/15 to maintain the same rolling diameter.
  5. Maintenance is the key word. Make sure the skimmer body are cleaned of slime and also the needlewheel or beckett nozzle are cleaned also.
  6. Try this for GF http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...pic=39767&hl=gf But word of caution, if go DIN standard, then DIN all the way, better not mix else there will be more headache.
  7. Totally agreed! Especially when the economy is weak, companies facing cashflow problem and people loosing jobs.
  8. Just 1 question for the mods.....when I login to this thread, it says that I have already voted for this poll. However, I did not even read the thread until now. Somehow, is there a breach in my pass word/ account such that someone has used my account to cast a vote? Anyway to check?
  9. PRC have 1 billion population. If 0.01% of the population have IQs higher than 160, the number will give 100,000. Thats why they always occupy the top places when they come over and they have more than enough high brainers to spread around the world. Think of it the another way, if 1% of the population is rich, that will give 10 million people with high spending powers (Singapore population is a mere 4.5 million). Thats why the market there has so much potential.
  10. The price difference should be 1/100 for Rolex. For the more up market ones like Patek, should be 1/400! But frankly, products made in China still have a long way to go before they achieve the quality of the Swiss or European counterparts.
  11. Provided your air source is from outside the house. Else if still from within the house, the CO2 level in the room will still be high at night and your PH will still drop.
  12. Deltec has the self cleaning head! Not sure on the H&S and BK. As for spares, well, ask yourself will you pay $200+ for a RD pump shaft and wait 1 to 2 weeks for it to arrive or rather a eheim 1260 shaft that cost only $70 from petmart and available anytime? Do not think the local distributor for Deltec and BK keep any spares. As for the Deltec & BK needlewheels, they should last a long time if one pre-filter the feed pump properly. Only thing that needs replacement after wear and tear is the shaft and the rubber bushings that hold the shaft in place.
  13. Thought from the beginning the forum was started up, AT mentioned no bidding allowed in the sales section. Can AT or mods please comfirm?
  14. Can PM acidjazz, cos I sold him a 50 lbs = approx 22 kg bag for $190 only. He should have extra.
  15. Do you have any conclusive results? Or you just based on personal judgement? If yes, please post your theory on why running needlewheel will heat up the water more than running a beckett.
  16. Where??? Post the link to the thread leh....
  17. Hopefully have more of good people around, to ' smack' those disgusting pests around that will go all out just to profit a few dollars. Need you to once in a while 'kaypo' a bit in here lah...
  18. There will never be a best skimmer. One of the most important attributes of a good skimmer is spare parts availability and ease of maintenance. However, do remember to slightly over rate the skimmer, else you will end up not happy with water quality and then sell and buy a bigger unit and then lost money in the process.
  19. ckevin, We need more people like you not only in SRC but all the local reefing forums and as a whole, in Singapore. 打抱不平 , 有侠仪的好人 , 打倒小人 ! Also those who buy from Pasar Malam at a cheap price and then re-sell them for a profit. Most despicable.
  20. Makes you feel good so that you can donate some money to them.
  21. Please use judgement....if the equipment is faulty, you willing to buy tickets to fly to HKG to get it repaired? Same goes for spare parts. But for Aquamedic, the local distributor can provide spares if you just say it is local set and hope they do not ask to see sales invoice. aquabeAnz If you getting the Iwaki pumps, get it from the hardware street, located near the fish street. I will tell you the address if you need it. But warn you first, the prices are very transparent and reefers like vincent and others knows the price there. I am sure they do not mind paying a bit extra for your effort to get it back to Singapore. If you are looking for fishes, it is about time to get those rare angels and tangs as the season is approaching......hope you find a gem! A gem tang I mean. Myself will be heading there for some fish shopping in end Nov.
  22. In nature, when a storm (typhoon, cyclon etc) passes through a reef, surely there will be very little sunlight over the reef for 24 hrs to 48 hrs, depending on the speed of travel of the storm. Reefs still survive do they? In fact, new ideas of reefing is to create the actual process of the sun in our lighting system, with light rails that moves, wire meshes that covers the MH light randomly to simulate cloud covers. Note, MH is very difficult to be dimmed and at a ramdom rate.
  23. Since the seller can put up a coral for bid, why in the world can't a potential buyer or bidder post the coral's picture and then start a new thread and ask for feedback on the market price which the the LFS is selling for similiar coral (size, colour, etc.) Don't be shy lah...just ask, surely people will chip in their 2 cents. If shy, then become carrot.
