  1. QT the fish for up to 4-8wks. Would be the best prevention!
  2. usually its factory calibrated , to be sure buy a pack of pH 7 solution to test. or u can bring to some reefers place nearby/where u got the set from who has a pH monitor to check if yr set needs calibration.
  3. go for the better brands if possible , had a bad exp. wif resun & no spare available. thats the bad part wif china made products , cheap but not that realiable IME
  4. confirm they are NOT true perculars. they shop needs to be condamm ...
  5. try goin to reborn on thurs , fri thats usually when the stocks arrive. other then PR farmway i'm nt really sure where else have.
  6. could be due to what they were fed at the LFS, colour enhancers. Haifeng feed use to be quite popular back then while i was keeping FW, due to the colour enhancer & bla bla bla add some blackwater extract to the water if need be , these are very hardy fish but can take awhile to adapt to the new surroundings. drop some food in , n visit yr fish more often they will recognize ppl like discus
  7. adding mollies to kick off the ANN cycle ? dats LAME !!!! u can add any rotting/dead stuff to cycle , juz a small piece will do adding yr liverocks would kick start the cycle , cause there will be die-offs frm it.
  8. Sapp, visit Bio-Ocean for the macro skimmers. The needle wheel skimmer macro out-performs the venturi driven weipro, The difference is the NEEDLE WHEEL imprellers ,
  9. go for the pump with the lowest power consumption , you pay for the skimmer but still have to pay for the monthly bills too ! for a pump running 24hrs on 50w is abt $7.61/mth
  10. sounds more like the venturi clogged up. run/soak it in a vinegar solution.
  11. hey chercm i tot u posted this before ? but anyways do a search on cyano , increasing waterflow shd help.
  12. yup a damsel tank sounds nice , a skool of damsels or chromis but then who are we to dertermine what goes into the tank ? juz sit back and relax , enjoy wads in the tank not appleasing to the eyes , look ard for eye candy lor
  13. juz depends on which u prefer , Fish or corals ? or both ? N how much $$ u willing to invest , upkeep
  14. i'm nt sure how much the macro cost but the octopus reef skimmers looks affordable too they also have a local agent/dealer so getting a replacement shdnt be a prob.
  15. clowns are more prone to 'clownfish disease' Brooklynellosis
  16. Do some WC, it will help. Usually the cloudy eyes 'thing' will infect the whole tank. What kinda antibiotic are you gonna use ? Its quite hard to get them.
  17. Hypo will cause your pH to drop , remember to buffer. The process is long & tiring(IMHO). Of cause it works but on the aspect of time & money, i would dose formalin based medication. Last i would try is Copper. Just reading off the test kits would make your eyes >.< with the colouration chart. The ich, tomonts would survive even on BB. The skimmer wouldnt foam as nice compared to saltwater at full strength. U can add in if u want. Keep your water quality good & the blue tang feeding , it should recover. Make sure that the fish is fully recovered before purchasing another. imagine 2 fish in the QT ... Chances are very high for Powder Blue Tang to have Ich. I would go for the Yellow Tang. LOL
  18. try some ulva , cheato , red bamboo algae , those seaweed u can find in LFS i'm sure it'll eat one of that how big is the tang ? it might take a wk or so(depending on fish) to start feeding keep your fingers X
  19. u can either fill yr overflow area with bio balls or do a durso pipe
  20. ya i know spoil market , decided to withdraw the MWTS ...
  21. try some shellfish , prawns , some nori , or marine algae i've seen some that juz refuse to take any How big is the regal ?
  22. yup this ASM G3 is previously frm a fellowreefer. selling off @ $200 or any1 wans to offer a better price ?
