I install my algae scrubber in my sump.

Cheato require flow, light and a place for the chaeto. Easier to setup but I not sure they remove PO4.

Algae scrubber need light(warm or red)Air bubble and netting.(For upflow) Need frequent trimming and confirm

remove NO3 and PO4. But if lazy then cannot work right. Then you will have NO3 and PO4 buildup

The reefangel controller with a float switch control a dosing unit to top up water to the sump when water level drop.
