Is clear bottom or sand/gravel bottom better?

Nowadays, the easily way for nutrient export is carbon dosing using Bio pallets . Alternatively you may also consider running a Zeovit system ( Which will remove both N03 and P04 as well) , but both Method require a good skimmer. You can do a research on both.

Tried out doing the sand for my other tank. Maybe my live sand is too fine and seems cloudy even after a day. In the end give up.

Haha..

Hi,

what grade of sand did u use? Sugar sized grain?? Whats your tank size and wavemaker?

wanna use fine sand too, but i heard it may result in a sandstorm... :(

Hi McNugget,

What type of tank are you looking to set up?

Size? SPS? Mixed reef? Or even just Fish Only?

Just my two cents, I feel that these information will help the regulars understand and suggest the pros and cons for each type (DSB / or barebottom)

An open question like these will result in a variety of answers and I'm afraid you probably will not reach a comfortable decision..

Just my thoughts..
