For damsels to die probably disease. Many velvet cases you will not see spots, usually the fishes die when velvet affects the gills. You don't get the chance to see the body being covered in spots, which is in a very advanced stage.

Always something more important than fish.

ahhh nvm, found the prob... SG level 1.028 (swingable) 1.026 (floating hydro)

toadstool mushroom not opening it tentacles too..

since start i've been using the swingable hydro and maintain at SG 1.024.. everything was good

during water change, i bought a dymax floating hydro n tried to mark at 1.026

this morning i check with my swing hydro, its 1.028, floating at 1.026.. screw hydrometer... after i bring down sg, im buying a refractometer

1.028 won't cause your fishes to die. I've had SPS up to 1.034 reading from refractometer and they did'nt die immediately, just started to STN.

wah stress sia.. 1 black clown die again today... my elegance coral consumed the dead the fish... i can only see the tail of the fish...

toadstool not extending at all, hammer loosing colour..

stress stress stress especially with no QT tank..

Try to do a major water change again if possible. It would solve most of the problem, but if the fishes is already infected with diseases , you can only either take it out to treat in a hospital tank ( if you are keeping a reef tank) or wait for the disease to finish its cycle but don't add anymore new fish at least for the next 3-4 week.

this happened to me twice... and it was velvet. the only fish that survived the onslaught was my tomato clown which I did extreme Hypo treatment on it with pure DI water for 3-5 mins daily for 2 weeks or so and then I put it back into a little pail with an airstone after every Fresh water dip.

I left my small tank ( at the time it was a 60L system) fishless for about 3 weeks ( did 1 Major WC as well) or so before reintroducing my tomato clown back. The extreme Hypo treatment for the fish is also a risk as depending on the health of your fishes they may die from the treatment. But if you do nothing, the fish is going to die anyway so it's really luck what will happen whichever path you take.

good luck for the rest of your livestock.

Cheers, ;)

Can it be cause by water contamination?

Well suspecting that already 5 fishes died, Toadstool mushroom not opening up, Protein skimmer giving me dark skimmate in collection cup + main cylinder got algaes too.

And today i found patches of circle algae. Red Slime algae i think. I read that it may due to contamination...

Should be velvet, since your corals are doing fine, if water parameters are off, corals will show sign before fishes.

Your sg might be high, but its not the cause for fishes death. Try to get a refracto asap. :)

Dead fishes = ammonia. Your tank could be in the process of a second cycle if you didn't add sufficient ammonia during the initial cycling phase. Just wait it out, get API ammonia test kit. There's a reason why I insist on API & not others. You'll be surprised that the more popular marine brands can't measure ammonia at all..

Always something more important than fish.
