Many Little holes on the HEad

Hi all,

Seem like my Emperor Angel is suffering from HLLE cos there are many little holes on his head.

Currently, he is still eating like a Pig.

Domineering and always staying in front the tank like the guard of the tank.

I have been feeding Ocean Nutrition Pellets all the while..most of the time.

Could be due to malnutrition.

Anybody can share on what is the best or fastest way to help him to heal ?

There is No Heaters, No POwer Heads in my tank.

Only added a MP40 Wave Makers few months back ..

Chances of Stray Current is low.

Regular Maintenance & Water Change is executed.

You could try dipping the fish's food in selcon and maintain good water parameters?

yes I did... Copper used before.

Some members had the same problem after using copper to treat fishes. Not sure if it is related. With good diet and water quality, the hole should heal up

Remove the copper after your treatment, and feed your fish enriched with vitamin. It should heal by itself over time.

Boss... I just start to feed them with NLS Pellets. Soak with Vitamins too ...

What is the simplest way to remove the Copper ?

If I have stop dosing copper and leave it without removing.. will they go away eventually ?

I had the same problem with my Emperor Angel.

I change nearly 50% of my water with filtered sea water after I dose cupermine due to ich. Then put active charcoal in the sump under the running water. Thereafter I change 20% water everyweek for few weeks. On the UV light 8hrs every day.

I feed with the Dr Gs Anti bateria food.

Now the emperor is healing well... Now using NLS pallets hopefully to improve the colour and health even more

You can use Poly filter or carbon to remove copper. But you might need to use a few round to remove copper completely from the system. Copper will be skim out by your skimmer eventually, but this will really take some time.

HLLE usually cause by long term running copper in a tank and long term running carbon in a tank also possible to cause HLLE ... Many ppl but not all of them successful treat HLLE with Octozin but me never try b4 ...

Also, If I change my existing Carbon to new ones.. it's consider as changing Media right? Will they cause a haywire change in water parameters ?

I used it for Marine Ich and internal parasites before in a reef tank. It is another medicine besides the paraguard that I think it is reefsafe, Never try it on HLLE.

HLLE is due to water condition and diet.

According to Seachem webpage and instructions, Active carbon can remove their Cupremine ionic copper. Thou it takes a longer time but i find mine copper reducing a lot after adding active carbon and of course frequent water change.

There is no magical way unless you sell the fish and buy a good one

Take your time with water change and feed it with vitamin will heal eventually be patience bro...My emperror start HLLE last month and today is better almost healed just like 5mm scar that not really visible.

One lfs told me some ppl start their display tank with alot of fish and dose copper treatment afterward they remove the copper by activate carbon. Can someone tell me the different between carbon and charcoal ?
