Lol are u a vegetarian?

Aim and achieve.

I'm amazed...

Im no vegan but i do believe that the minimal respect we can give to a slaughtered chicken is to eat it all up within reasonable means and not let it die in waste.

Correct me if im wrong but i do believe its our bare basic responsibility to provide an appropriate living condition for anything we choose to bring home, be it a dog, cat, gorilla or fish.

At the end of the day we don't "own" these animals we blatantly call pets. Since you choose to buy and bring them back, it's your responsibility to provide for them. Regardless of whether they are smart, dumb, have 2 seconds worth of memory or cheap, you have to give it some degree of care and take responsibility for it. We strip them from their natural environment, the least we should do is provide them a home as close as possible to the conditions of their natural homes.

Extract from AVA:

http://www.ava.gov.sg/AnimalsPetSector/ResponsiblePetOwnership/BeingResponsiblePetOwner/PotentialPetOwners/index.htm

Its the only humane thing to do for these animals we bring home that cannot speak up for themselves.

If you can't provide for whatever reasons, leave them for someone else that (hopefully) can.

Sigh...

I don't think you need to be a vegetarian to be humane. The life of a fish is no less that of a dog or cat if you have actually respected it as a living thing.

Unfortunately, there are others out there that will poison you in order to make you part your $$$ with them. Moving forward you just need to reject these poison with a cool and sensible mind. Guess it is a lesson learnt. While cycling, amaze yourself with the interesting information about marine & reefing. :) Happy reefing.

Hi Dreams,

Learn from the mistakes of others so that you will not commit the mistake on yourself. because this hobby can be very time consuming and financial draining.

Money well spend = less money spend in the future.

Patience is one key value u must develop in order to have a thriving tank.

I was once like you....

I need sump, i buy sump

I need overflow box, I buy overflow box

I buy Weipro, not gd, i buy prizm, not gd, I buy aquamedic, still not satisfied, I buy deltec ... I wasted so much money and time trying to sell

I buy Fl, coral dying, I buy PL, very hot, buy fan, water evaporation too high then buy resun chiiler, no gd buy arctica....

then I need wavemaker, buy SEIO, bigger SEIO, biggest SEIO, then tunze, then this then that ...

then i decided that I should stop these nonsense.

I READ. I talk to reefers, i go to their home, I visited the library.

Information is readily available nowadays.

With all that being said, your testkit for ammonia and nitrite will not lie to you. Do you have the test kits. Traces of ammonia or nitrite will kill any living fishes or coral in no time. why waste time and money again.

Just an advice too, I understand you are very active in your setup and you might wanna consolidate all your threads into one. Instead of flooding the Marine Set-up forum with many questions that are actually related to just one topic - Cycling. Your title for topic can be clearer too.

Can't agree more. This guy is sick, using live fish as test bed for his own pleasure.. disgusted.

No one is sick.....everyone makes mistakes.... everyone learns from mistakes....

Some, like yourself may be wiser by not making those mistakes.... Guide those around you and judge not....

Dreamz, don't be discourage.... it's always wise to study and, seek opinions and advice from more seasoned reefers! Don't bet on luck all the time.... it will fail you one day :)

Happy reefing!

nitrite might be 0 because the cycling process has yet to be started.

best to check if theres any ammonia.

if 0 nitrite, there should be spike in nitrate.

have to use testkit to check for it.

At the end of your cycle, you should have clear water, no foul smell and if you have lights on, algae (cyano also count) starting to grow. that is a sign of nitrate.

I have some white stuffs growing on the rocks. Is it safe to leave them there?

Aim and achieve.

White stuffs...mean with tentacles or something? If it looks like slime,I removed them when was cycling my tank. :)

If they look like sponge i.e. not solid but holey, then they are sponges. Some bros keep, some throw. If not, I cannot tell what is white stuff. But live algae is never white.

Here are some pictures of the white stuffs. Can help id them pls. No harm leaving them in the tank right?

Aim and achieve.

Everyone do make mistake but If you are aware and did purposely for the sake of your aim and achieve dream then I would say you are cruel and inhumane... !

Btw, from your picture..It seem like your cycle is not ended but instead just about to start up.. :whistle ! My advice is monitor closely and do the test again after 2 days.
