3rd attempted on scrubber

Recommended Posts

this is the 3rd attempt as the 1st 2 was not very neat and messy. so far its been 3 days. no sign of algae yet. about 18 hrs a day. notice the skimmer is going crazy after installing and the corals not doing very well. will test the water this wkend to see if the shut down has cost a huge spike in the water parameters. so for those who intend to try, remember not to shut down the rtn pump for 2 long.

If you using light or tube go for 2700k. If you use LED go for 660

yes bro, you will see the brown one first and then when the system kicks in, you will see the green algae in strands. give it 3 to 5 weeks.

so technically, still possible to use white light except tat the process takes longer? Its been 6 days since the ats started...tot its pretty fast to even see browning.

You may not see green with this light. My opinion.

lets give it a chance since it has been set up. so far its promising....if end of 4 weeks nothing happens then will change...at least for those who is thinking of where to get lights this is good as its easily avaliable together with stand so swee swee fit. if not still can attach red led or warm light later

Yes, i would say give it more time too bro.

The amount of brown you see after 6 days is pretty good compared to me (i only see decent amount of browning after 10 days). Just note that it will take a while, probably two cycles of 3-4 weeks (that's the time lapse before i clean the scrubber) before i saw the green algae in strands. It goes brown first, then darker and darker, then you see a mesh of green algae, then strands of green algae.

True. Good luck. Just don't poison your fish in the meantime.

ohh the message we all want to bring to hobbist is please also do ur WC regime and all other stuff you do to maintain water condition. this will be a add on to it....

there was another refeer who suggested seeding. meaning scraping green algae from the tank to apply on the mesh to speed up the process
