hi all , i'm thinking of replacing my return pump ( eheim 1260 ) with tesino gp231 3500L/hr

heard its super silent.

was wondering if the tesino pump reliable ??

hows the heat from the tesino pump ??

is anyone having problems with this pump ??

if its good , thinking of going full tesino. calculated can cut my electricity bill from the pumps by 60% which is about 20$/month

I have been using GP232 for more than 1.5 years without any problem till I recently sold it off due to decom :( .

IMHO, this is really a good, super silence, low watt and strong flow pump compare to other branded pump that I used before :yeah: .

Selling point for mewas the low power consumtion compared to other models. Used it in an open sump for my old 2ft for abt 1 yezr before upgrade and now its powering my frind's new 3ft setup.very good pump all round i say.

The GP-231 died in the middle of the night... next morning had to take urgent leave to get a replacement pump!

Now using Jebao DC-5000.. another China made pump <_<

So better have a backup pump on standby if using China made pumps...

Luckily no casualty... i think the older Waveline, Tesino, Diablo etc all made by Jebao.. performance wise is similar.. equally quiet..

good thing about DC pump is u can switch to the lowest speed during feeding.. I don't use the feed mode as it completely off the pump..

Now waiting for the new Waveline DC6000 as heard that Waveline changed their manufacturer in China and the new DC4000, 6000 and 12000 are of better quality.. but yet to be proven..

Did you do periodically cleaning for the pump? For my previous GP232, I wash clean every quarterly and after 18 months running still very quiet and strong till I sold it few week ago due to decom.

I clean every quarter also. Was working fine till one nite I go back then I stop suddenly.

If any bro has the same model GP231 working ,I will like to borrow to test is the impellor issue

and not the pump itself

my tesino just broke down as well, sigh caused me alot of inconvenience, hopefully the replacement comes fast and fault-free

Hi Jellyfish

How long u use ur Tesino pump???

I'm looking for a low watt return pump to replace my current Ehiem1260.

So far I have shortlisted Tesino, Jebao DC pump, Reefoctopus Water Blaster & Diablo DC pump.

But not sure about their performance & reliability. Still considering.

Hope someone can help me on the choice

Hi Copepod,

I've used my Tesino Pump for slightly less than a year, my 1 year warranty was a couple of days away from expiry, rather disappointing i must say.

Apparently, the manufacturer obsoleted Tesino pumps and i was given a Jebao DC pump in exchange. IMO the Jebao DC do come across as smaller, quieter than Tesino considering both have a similar output of 5000l/hr.

However, if i have the chance to choose again, i would have went for Water Blaster pumps, the fact that they stamp a 3 year warranty on their product signals a certain degree of quality and durability.

Hope it helps.

cheers
