I think ur led light is the cause I am also using maxspect, i tried to go 50 percent white and 80 percent blue. One of my brain coral bleached within a few hrs. Imo if u r only keeping lps. U may want to never exceed 60 percent. I had fairly good success with a:30 b:60

  • 2 months later...

I have these corals for more than 10 months, then slowly it is becoming like this. Not sure what causes it.qu7urure.jpg The open brain suddenly didn't open and now bleaching. My other open brain is doing fine.umage2eg.jpg Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Bro of all your water parameters, care to share the salinity?? Are you using RO/DI with salt mixed or natural seawater from LFS? My LPS perished while soft corals r ok. I realized my salinity keep decreasing until 1.019 as I am using seawater from LFS. I took the salinity measure of the LFS seawater and is 1.015. I discussed with Ken from madpetz and he told me using seawater is ok but must increase the salinity cos now is monsoon season and the seawater collected by LFS are low in salinity.

My salinity is 1.023. I am also using RO/DI with salt mixed red sea pro. Do 10% water change every week. Thanks for the information. I have to consider this as part of my learning curve.
