I use a Dlink 5020L for my tank. I actually wanted to get the HD version. But figures the connection will be slow. In the end got this VGA ip camera. It's good enough for me. I can see if there is any problem with the equipment

Thanks guys! But in terms of coral "fluffiness" etc, can still capture? My idea is to monitor the corals and also to enjoy it while away from tank. ^^

Joby553, yours seem clear but if zoom in, can see clearly as u mentioned that u use to observe ur tang more. Heh.

Ahhyi, what is the damage like? ^^

I know nuts about web cam. Is it have to conne t to PC or laptop or can work by itself

I have a prolink hd cam, not bad but zoom in will be pixelated. Depends on where U place it too I guess.

I use the Samsung HD too....its easy to use and link up with my wifi easily. Use it to monitor my tank from overseas.

Wow. So many good advices! Thank you everyone. Hopefully we can source out better cam for us to enjoy our reefing experience. Then we can have a forum where we can showcase our tank at any point of time ^^ online gallery/exhibition. ^^

James. It will be extremely slow or hard to access the feed from my hp if I use the HD mode. I running wired 500mbps fibre. Using iphone 5. I dun have problem with my dlink which is on a wired 10mbps office fibre. But of coz the dlink one is only VGA quality.

Actually HD or non-HD doesn't make much of a different. What you need is an Optical Zoom IP-cam. Not dgital zoom, but optical zoom. It's like looking thru' a binocular, and zoom into the object you are observing. I will try to take some picture of my tank with 1x zoom (original) up till 27x zoom to show you the output. Currently cam is offline as I setup for test and box it for future use.
