The key question to ask is how many WC has you performed with this set and what is the input water TDS. if it is less than 1000 litre usuage... no point sticking to this brand, waste your money...

If youre usually getting less den 5ppm and now 40,your resin needs to be changed. Did you used di water to set up your 3ft?msyne thats why it only lasted a month. Not only does resin depends on your wc regime, it also depends on the tds of your tap water. The higher it is, the faster the resin exhausts.

Am using 5 stage. So far only changed the pre filter once. Still maintaining at 0 ppm. Its been 9 months. Ro/di usage high as its also used for drinking water. The ppm at my area is high. Approximately 134ppm from the tap.

Normal tap water about 80+ ppm I using crystal pro 3 stage set I think I did perhaps 200-300+ litres on the DI water So when I tested it yesterday, the reading gave me 40+ ppm. I set up using seawater. So how ah ?

Bro,

I am assuming you are only running DI resins without the RO + carbon + filter part?

I used to do that for my nano, the flow through resin should be very very slow. You should be seeing fast drops of water out of the resin, not a flow/ stream. Worse than postrate problems.

I used to change at 2ppm of TDS. They exhaust very quickly, about 150 liters worth of clean water if I remember correctly. Really not worth the money replacing them this way.

I run my water through a crystal 3 stage too. 1 carbon and 2 resin. I use about 60l water a month ans they last about 5 months for me. Thats 300+L of water. My tap water tds is 60+. And for me i dont really bother about flow, so long as it comes out 0 im fine with it. I can make 15L in maybe 20-30mins.

It's definitely more economical using RO/DI especially for larger volume tanks. Else you'll need to spend more in changing DI media. The RO is meant for sediment, carbon and RO stages are meant to strip yr water from most of yr impurities and the last stage which is your DI just "polishes" off. With this set-up, you do not need to change yr DI media so often. Without the RO filter, yr DI is the work horse.
