Hello reefers,'

I'm having a problem choosing return pump for my 40gal tank set. The head height will be about 4 feet. My budget is at 150$. Please advise me on a silent and reliable pump

Thank you in advance!

For reliable pump, most reefer will recommend Ehiem but it's watt killer... :fear: . Maybe can you consider DC pump like Jebao DC6000 .

I second the suggestion on DC pump like Jebao DC6000. Price wise its around your budget.

You can always tune down the power of the DC pump (not possible with AC pumps) to suit the design of your system. Its a nice flexibility to have.

I also have a ~40 gallon tank & using the DC6000 running at 85% power.

Thanks for your suggestion bro subzero. I think it will be my choice. May I know where should I get it from? Thanks.

You can get it from Aquarium Iwarna, Pacific Marine (Ah Beng), Aquamarin Aquatic Pets, DE-Aquatic.

I'm using eheim 1260 for my 50g. Got it from seaview. Slightly more ec than your budget.

I once used a Eheim 1260 before i de-comm.

Ran for 5 years, everyday 24/7, never give me any problem at all.

Only thing is the high watt, but the horse power damn good.
