SRC Member christan1959 Posted January 1, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted January 1, 2018 Seahorses do not have stomachs. So they need to eat 5-7 times a day. If feeding frozen food, soak in selco.

SRC Member soggycookies Posted February 6, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted February 6, 2018 thanks for sharing your Seahorse experience bro. IME they are some of the hardest species to keep alive(kinda like mandarins that don’t eat prepared foods)unless you have a very well-established refugium to grow lots of pods as food for them in the Long-term. I have one now and it’s been doing well for 3 months now with no signs of starving but I had to setup an external refugium just for it to maintain it cause it wouldn’t even eat frozen food   Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

It is definitely a challenge to keep Seahorse and perhaps Mandarin. First thing first is need a mature tank as well as with all the live food (Live Pod, Live BBS and perhaps Live Rotifer). Of course, best is to be able to train or buy Seahorse already accustomed to frozen food. I am still not ready to kick-start my 2nd attemp for the Seahorse project in view of time  and commitment required. I want to make sure a good success and continuity for my 2nd attemp.  Quote ............................................................................................................................................
