Compressor chiller is definitely cheaper to run over the long term due to its efficiency, it can chill the water faster .

Most of the compressor unit we use for our tank are modified to use for 3 pin plug.

Can the compressor be plug into the apex so that I can use it as chiller ????

Size: 4x2.5x2 ft - Display 

Equipment :

Return 1 : Ecotech marine L1

Return 2 : Ecotech marine M1

CR : Skimz CM122 - Caribsea extra course media with Grotech magnesium

Light : ATI 8x54W

1hp is about 745watts

A 1.5HP air con draws about 1117W  => 4.7A

Most  plugs are 13A => supportable.

Singapore tarrif now is 16.8c per kWh => each hour will cost $0.20 to run

Assume it runs 8 hours per day => $1.61/day or $48.38 per month.

 

Chercm, the apex neptune energy bar6 specs is

1) Max draw per outlet = 8A

2) Max draw per energy bar = 10amps

Typically  you would give 50% allowance in case of spikes. Having said that, i'd rather not plug high drain device to the Apex.

You can't, only non inverter unit can convert as drop in chiller, and you need to modfiy the electric wiring. Best is ask the chiller people to help u
