How to intro a tang to a tank with a tang?

How should i introduce a tang(convict or scopas) into my tank that already has a unicorn tang?

Idon't know about your tang. But my seems comfortable with the yellow surgeon tank that I introduce into my tank. Only those flat damselfish that are bullies.

I find that the unicorn is a mild-mannered fish compared to the zebrasoma type of tangs. I used to keep it without disputes with four other tangs...

I suggest...

1) Introduce it only when lights are out...and also after acclimatization..

2) Divert attention of resident fish with feedings...

4) Put a mirror near the territory of the resident tangs...let them 'attack' themselves.

5) Change some of the rock formation in the tank to 'confuse' your resident fish.

Mixing tangs with other tangs is very tricky. IMO the keys to success are

1) to choose fish of dissimilar appearance in shape n color

2) less territorial fish first

3) make sure plenty of food is available

4) plenty of hiding places to avoid competition

5) Use a large a tank as possible

In practical terms, putting a Powder Blue in the same tank with a Goldrim (Powder Brown) or Achilles is asking for trouble.

Whereas a Yellow and Regal Tangs are generally tolerate each other as they are different in shape and color.

Scopas are tough nuts (just like the Achilles & Sohal) unlike the Unicorn which belongs to the least aggresive group.

Whenever a new Tang is introduced to a tank with some resident Tangs, you can expect a certain amount of sparring at first and provided the above points are taken noted, they should settle down a day or two.
