Why My Lr Spreading Brown All Over The Tank Walls?

i had cycled my tank for about 2mths now. What i face is, my tank is near the window, but i'll got some window binds to decrease the algae. But lately, my LR are stained with brown patches all over the LR and walls... it seems like spreading every fast, is this normal?

Snails love that stuff.

Less sun will help reduce algae and heat.

i am still considering to hold on longer till next month before i add any lifestock and get the tests kits just spend $140 on club 21 leow.. so tight buget to buy test kits

The diatoms doesn't mean anything with respect to the nitrogen cycle, so it does not indicate whether the system is suitable for livestock.

Consider getting some snails to eat the diatom or let it run its course and burn itself up.

Test your water first, before you put in the LS.

The brown stuff should have no effect on your LS.

mine too...mostly on sandbed n glass... more n more brown stuff now... those brown stuff are called diatoms?

how much ar? i dun like snails wor... that time i bought one.. then die off after 3weeks.. $6 one ... Use manual, clean off can? hee hee what else eat these brown thingy?

Acclimitize your snails.

Turbo, trochus or astrea. Try to get the smallest size possible. Big ones are like bulldozers.

My turbo snails grow super fast. Anyone wants to exchange small ones for big ones? Big ones, I can even hear their shell knock against the glass when they turn corners!!!

hmmm, i think i got the same stuff growing in my tank as well....

went to reborn yesterday night, got a $2 snail from them and 2 seahorses

btw, the aunty told me that they dun sell $1 snail leh..

Is the snail called turbo snail? its shape like a cone.

Check your water yet? Seahorses may not be hardy enough for a new aquarium.

Yeah. Seahorses are pretty tough to feed. Especially if you have fast swimming fishes around. They will be like .

well, my tank about 2mths old leow.. but haven test water perimeter leh.. and i only keen to keep Seahorses with maybe one fish.. can right???
