Hi its hard to give comments. Not enough photo and info.

But as a general comment, always ensure the outlet pipe is double the size of the water inlet pipe. This will prevent risks of overflood in the main tank.

Its also good to have an overflow box instead of just a pipe outlet to prevent snails or fish etc getting sucked down or blocking the outlet pipe.

The surface of the water is also cleaned when it can overflow into an overflow compartment. Otherwise you will find a oily film constantly on the surface of the water.

Hi ,

IMHO :-

3 ft (length) - Okie

2.6 (width) Okie..

15mm thick glass - Super man.

The ONLY thing is the 3ft (height) - You may have problem if anything drop to the bottom to the tank. You may have proble to reach it. :cry2:

You may consider to change the height at about 2 feet.

Happy Reef Keeping :peace:

Will look fantastic with such a depth provided you have thought of the maintenance otherwise i think 28 inch is the best height .

Anyway if you are able to maintain such a depth - we would very much like to leverage on your knowledge on how you do it.

Wah how come so many people got marine tank as a gift .... will it really be a gift or a curse

judginf from the photos, with limited accessibility due to the light mountings and depth of tank, u r really going to hv a hard time touching the bottom of ur sand bed, even if ur sandbed is 6" thick IMHO.

Is it just me or did anyone see the overflow box which I didn't?

So gonna have long pvc pipe protruding from the base of the tank like roman columns?

Hole for pipe looks kinda small to induce high water turn-over rate.

And yeah... limited access is gonna give problems

juz adding to marcvelous comments, with the roman water columns without overflow box, it's gonna provide u with superb sound effects 24/7. :o not trying to discourage u, but juz stating what problems u might be facing in future. ;)

i am aware of this..

however my co partner assure me that this going to be okay..

there is still spaces between the wall and the tank.

we might do a hook up overflow... :erm:

.* any disadvantage of a hook-up. :look:

The noise depends on how much water returned from the sump n how big the dia. of the overflow PVC pipe. Don't see much prob. there. ;)
