thanks everybody.

I'd just check out reborn's T5 tubes. Funny thing about reborn's stock was that it's 2ft tubes are only 14watt! I don't really understand. If T5 for 2ft is 14watt I might as well get the normal FL (15watt)... Heat caused also not significant what...

I got a 2 ft Dymax recently, the tubes indeed indicate 14W... attached is the pic of the whole system dismantled. The ballast is the two black long thingy, dymax's own customise i think. Wanted to change ballast and tubes at first, but now scratch head on where to house an eballast in the housing. Anyone's 2 ft dymax is different?

Hi 35cents,

That what I saw too... 14watts 2ft T5s.

As I had gotten my 2ft T5 for quite some time back, mine's a 20watt.

I was thinking recently to DIY it to use Aquaz 24watt tubes. Still considering my options, cos DIY for an increase in 4 watts per tube doesn't sound attractive enough...

the only way to place the eballast external and redo the wiring...not very hard to do.. ;)

use a 2x24watts eballast, rewire, use a 24watts tubes, and yes....ur done!!

Thanks Doc for the advise! ;)

it is not juz the wattage. for equal length tubes, t5-no has the output of a fl tube whereas t5-ho has double that of a fl but the wattage is not double cos it is more efficient.

So is the one I'm having a T5-no or a T5-ho? The white tube is certainly brighter than a 15W FL tube.
