Can We Reused Carbon Or Phosguard?

Just wondering, could we reused the matrixcarbon and phosguard after a period of time? Meaning if the carbon or phosguard put inside the Marine tank. Can we take it out and after that dry it under the sunand reused after it?

if not, what the recommanded period (in mths) for the matrixcarbon or phosguard before we disposed of it away? thanx

No you cant. They are suppose to adsorb the bad stuff, and once its full, it can adsorb any more.

both products r renowned to leech after a while. U should remove/replace them after abt 3mths, some say 3 weeks

i consider that as expensive..

In the instruction Phosguard mention that you can sun it and reuse again.

Anyway, I've thrown mine away.

from what I read, once the carbon has absorb

all the toxic from the water till its capacity, it

will start to "spit" out absorbed stuffs. So best replace them

as frequent as you can afford. haha.. once

a month is good.

Also usage of active carbon will absorb also

good trace element. So usage of it once awhile

is good. (eg. 2-3days to remove toxic, then remove

carbon)

As for phosguard, there's so called (as mentioned)

no side effect as active carbon. No spitting out effect.

But the phosguard won't be effective after its "expired".
