Requirements For Keeping Christmas Tree Worm

hey...Saw some very nice christmas tree worms and tempted. So colourful but must know the specs first.

Need advice on

1) water conditions?

2) light requirements

3) Compatible fish

its not the worms you need to worry about..

its the symbiotic porites coral they live in.

i have a rock but seems to have bleached and the porites are receding,

maybe it'll recover under my new MHs

worms are still there though, but think lesser now,

this is when it was 'Brand new' a few months back

Good to know that you are researching first before buying! Good example to all the newbies here!

Bum's right... x'mas tree worms are hosted by porites corals. These corals are SPS corals and require strong to intense lighting. If the coral dies, so will the worms.

The worms themselves are filter feeders, so plankton is the food to feed.

But actually whether the worm depends on the porites is still a controversial issue. Not enough research has been done on whether the worm benefits from the porites yet. I think...
