My coral seems to be dying

the above is a picture of the dying coral. i'm sorry but i forgot the name of it. it doesn't seem to be doing too well. not opening as much as before.

as i will be leaving the country for `a month with only the maid feeding the fish, and topping up the water, i thought it would be best for me to take it out of the water, but when i tried to remove it, it produced some form of white ppt that got squirted out... and "flew" all over the tank, am wondering whether that is poisonous.

should i leave it in the tank, or any bro's out there with an idea on how to take it out of the tank as it is attached to my LR already.

Yours look like a xenia.

You should remove it quick and the white ppt is probably the dead tissue

i suggest you get it out of the tank before it fouls the parameters.. maybe u can try chipping off some of the LR attached to it..

I had this situation too. very soon you will find it kinda like not securing itself to the rock as firmly and begin to rot from the base-inside. yellowish stuff will be seen. I dun know wat's wrong given that the other corals are in good shape and i dun know how to save it.

may i noe tt izzit very far away from the strong current??? if that is so..try 2 place it near a place that there is high current.

actually, its in current.. sigh, looks like i'll have to get rid of it real soon. most prob will take out the whole rock then remove it.... argh!

anyone has better ideas?

well...if u take it out n put back the LR.. it is best that u do a partial water change..

thanks bros, have taken the xenia out. sigh. i liked it quite a bit. coz it was small and my tanks small. and now its gone.

oh wells. shall do a water change soon.... =(

take it out and put it in another tanks and monitor the progress...cannot let it die in ur main tank. will spolit the water!!
