Hi bros out there... is running a chiller very expensive for electri bill ? around how much more per month ??

Average electricity cost for my 3ft set up abt $70/mth

200W return pump 24/7

400W chiller 6hrs/day

250W MH 10hrs/day

78W T5 14hrs/day

80W tunze, seio, maxijet wave makers 24/7

50W skimmer pump 24/7

50W CR pump, KR, Auto topup, sump light 24/7

I'm using CL450. So far my bill increase abt 10bucks. Planning to get a 150W MH. Mine is a 3x2x2ft.

Need to check with u, how much $$ if running 1x150W? Thanks!

Assuming u turn on the 1X150W Mh for 8Hr a day

150 X 8 = 1200W

1 mth take 30days

1200 X 30 = 36KW.

Look at ur bill, every KW is 0.16++ cents.

36KW is 36 x 0.16 = $5.76 /mth

So $5.76 for a 150MH (8hr/day) for a mth.

Not sure if this calculation is the right method.

Others pls advise.

should you ditch the chiller idea, you are only saving $10-20 of bills.

But if you run a chiller, health of the tank worths more than the little saving here.

total agreed ...... :lol::rolleyes::D

IMO.. go for a cl650 as the price different is not reali that much.. can save u a upgrade in furture if u decided to go for higher wattage lights etc.....with like Mh can reali cook up ur water fast .. :D

ALL RITE!!!!! MH here I come!!!!! But 3x2x2 tank just 1 MH light 150W will do rite? Is it tat the higher k the better? should get the 20000k MH?
