New Nano tank????

I used to have a 6 footer fish only tank in my old place but has given up due to space constraint in my new abode. I have seen several fantastic nano tank in the forum and am really contemplating to set up one.

The only problem is that i only have permit (from my "home affairs" minister) to set up a tank in the balcony (far away from my marble flooring).

3 potential problems:

1) algae boom (even in indirect sunlight)

2) raindrops splashing in.

3) I also wash the balcony every week so the fish tank stand/ cabinet legs have to withstand the water.

Is it advisable to setup one with these constraint?

bro...can negotiate wif ur "home affiars" minister to hav it place at the living room mahx...in this way...while she is watching the TV...at the same time..she can also admire ur fish tank...

in tis case then have it in the balcony lorx.no choice liaoz...but can cover the windows with blinds..or curtains wad... n one more tink...check if ur balcony is of straight alignment..if nt slanted one side denis nt gd liaoz.. my 2 cents..

you are right....the balcony is slanted. Would this have bearing on a 2 ft cube tank?

ya..so u have to get somethinh like arcylic to bring up the cabinet..get a alignment ruler and test the alignment...

I will be stepping on very very thin ice then .......

My previous 6 ft tank did stain the marble flooring. So I myself is not in favour of having the tank in the house too.

Am planning the following:

28"x 24"x24" tank

24"x12"x12" sump

HS skimmer

HS calcium reactor

1X 150W MH

2X T5 actinic blue

1 chiller 1/2 HP

1 tunzes with controller

hmmm.............guess thats all.

Zooming in on details now after weeks of hunting around and preying on 2nd hand deals.

24"x12"x12" sump .................now 18 x 12 x 12

HS skimmer .......now getting B skimmer

HS calcium reactor ......getting another brand

1X 150W MH ..............getting 250W MH

2X T5 actinic blue .........same

1 chiller 1/2 HP .............getting CL650

1 tunzes with controller ...same
