I fed the fish everyday with cyclopee n fomular 2 and henry's food on alternate days

Hi iceman. Does your skimmer skim like mad after feeding henry's mix? Mine skim like hell but mostly SW and slimmy stuff so I usually off the skimmer while feeding henry's mix and switch it on an hr later.

No, usually i got dry skimmate. Usually i don't feed to much, fed only about the size of one cube of mysis shrimpe .

Pic of my Schuran.

I understand the bublble count is minimum. However, the Schuran is still skimming well.

I suspect its due to my very low bio load since there's no corals and only 3 fishes.

Think its because of their R&Ds plus the finishing of the products are of superb quality. One of the reasons why I bought mine. :P

Agreed. Their suberb workmanship is remarkable. No diy guru can match Schuran.

Besides, this is a low wattage skimmer yet produces amazing results.

I am not sure if their venturi itself is anything special, but Shuran skimmers uses the aquaflotor principle in their design to have a longer dwell time than conventional venturi skimmers:

Bio Ocean are also selling Shuran skimmers. They look excellent quality, but the price!!!!!! Virtually double what you pay for a becket.

I am very happy with my Ocean-werx becket skimmer - it works well and produces lots of skimmate.

Frankly, it seems to me that most people buy skimmers based on either price or personal preference. Those that buy on price (like I did initially) usually end up replacing their 'el-cheapo' skimmer with a real one within a short time.

There seems to be no reliable sources of information out there that can clearly state whether a becket is better than a venturi...etc., etc., Always differing views from the 'experts'...

Real reefs don't have glass bottoms....(...think about it)

hey bros

anyone can advise if Schuran Jetskim 100 can use the Aquabee 2000L pump? Will it be too strong?

If it is too strong, is it advisable to tee off and feed to a FR as well? Will it cause any problems?

Main Tank: 5 x 1 x 1

Return from overflow: Eheim compact+ 5000

Lighting: 2x 54W T5

Monitor 2: American Marine Pinpoint Temperature monitor

Hi Giray & fellow reefers,

Is it possible to tee off the excess from the aquabee 2000L to a FR. Do you think it can work properly this way?
