Even for 3, you will need a really big tank. Maybe 7 to 8 feet?

They need alot of space, or not,"Think tank ain't big enough for the three of us. Do you feel lucky? *short pause* Punk?" :P

I think fishes school for a reason ;)

Like some small fish school because they appear larger to the predators and others school for mates, they don't just school for well... the sake of schooling

To solve this query of whether PBT school in captivity, I think we must first find out why they school in the first place and since it's to drive away other fishes and territorise an area for food, it might not happen in our tanks :(

The reason, I think, is that the PBT would firstly not face a lack of food and secondly, there is no other place for them to territorise other than the tank itself B)

and this goes to show that PBT does school though successful in aquariums or not still depends.( on what I don't know, maybe the size of tank?)

Did you see the full tank picture?

The way the photos is taken, it seems more like of a diving pic than a tank pic.

I believe that they do have a chance of schooling...

-Provided that u provide them with a huge tank.

A 6X2 i believe is still not enuff,PBT are rather big schooling fishes. Guess you'll need at least a 6X4? To effectively imitate the openess of their natural environment enuff to make them school.

-3-5 fishes aint gonna cut it.... I stand with muah chee. At least 10 fishes and above.

They school in nature more for safety reasons actually. More pairs of eyes to look out from predators from all round. Since they are always busy on the look out for danger, their territorial nature in supressed.

Read/seen it somewhere but forgotten. It does make sense. Sacrificing Individual territories for survival.

Then you got to provide them with a predator in your tank so that they will school
