Give away in the sense that..the product might cost e.g $20 but im selling it for $10 ,im actually giving away $10. I understand my english not so good enough for you. In this case im just explaining,no harm.

I shall try to explain myself first. Please let me know if I'm wrong anywhere.

You noticed the use of the conjunction, "for", in the sentence "give away for a token". The use of this conjunction supplements the term "give away" since the commonly accepted meaning is actually to "give away (for free)"; thus, having "for a token of ..." is necessary as this would remove this misunderstanding.

Oh, one more thing. I checked up the word "give". Read the Webster's definition here. Please enlighten us to which part of the definition of "give" connotates "transfer of ownership for free". Somehow, I just couldn't find it! Oh, again, read point 10 of the link above. Then again... you might argue Webster is wrong. OMG.
